6CW Podcast New Years Greetings
Hey guys,
Just wanted to say well done and thankyou to all Podcast contributors from 2016. Unfortunately there has been a very long hiatus in production in the last few months, this was due to personal life upheavals and other such trivial matters.
In order to guarantee shows are kept regular as we move forward, I would like to announce that the Podcast will be presented for now as an after go home show format. This is also to avoid burnout and allow for more content per show.
One of the major problems I had with Engel in my early 6CW run was that I threw all my eggs into one basket. I would often be set up with an opponent and out promo him by basically doing everything I could in one week that would usually lead to me essentially burning out in a rivalry till I had to come up with more and more crazy ideas. For exmple, with Joe Fraiser my first "rivalry" (Thankyou JJ) I exploded into it with a stalker angle and basically did all the things in one week that could have been done over several. I chose to blow my load over telling an actual story and being patient. I remember many many interchanges between myself and JD where I desperately tried to change the character. A particular not so great idea was that I wanted Engel written out for a month only to return under a different name and be a normal baby face, just for the purpose of allowing him to snap back into Engel. There was no thought process it was just me splurging ideas all over the place and along with life trouble I always ended up burning out and taking LONG breaks, ruining many possibly great rivalries (here's looking at you Gazzy).
As such I have always strove to keep Engel on a journey that works to tell a story over time whilst also taking account of the direction the writers lead me in, sometimes its stuck (Heel Engel worked imo) sometimes it fails after one week (Corporate Engel, wish I had done it in reverse order, a more gradual change that lead to Jones picking him at Night of Glory, would have been a much better story if I am honest with myself) and though some people don't like the direction of some of my promo's (for example the Jeremy Kyle one did not exactly win plaudits) I prefer to write how I see Engel, and what I would see Engel doing on gaining fan favour. Paul put it quite well and helped me realise how I want the rest of the current storyline to go from a promo point of view when he said that Engel would find it very easy to slip back to being the bad guy, its that personal struggle that really tells Engels story. Its been over a year since my current run began, and I plan to be here for a very long time, I have enjoyed the storylines and direction and seen a huge increase in great promos.
So that is why I want to go to an after go home show format, I want to avoid the show being too frequent and me being fed up with it or you guys facing disappointment after real life problem number 356 halts my plans. So the plan is to do a 6CW Podcast on Wednesday evening. New Year, fresh start and though I will be covering some things from past 12 months, I would like this show to primarily cover Seasons Beatings and its go home show. The next show which will be a one off, will be a year in review to cover the rest some time between now and the next PPV. We will be looking for guests to join us, we often record just after tea time about 7pm, but has been as late as 9 if we have had delays for whatever reason. If your interested, PM me or post in this thread and we will have you on board.
Be warned, because I am sometimes a terrible human being we often end up with no notes and just chat on the fly
Just like to end this with a huge thankyou to Chris, Paul, Mat, JJ and all the match and segment writers for the work you have done in 2016, nothing has truly disappointed to ridiculous levels and the show keeps getting better.

Re: 6CW Podcast New Years Greetings
So as to allow for a very special guest on the 6CW podcast, we will be postponing until a week today. This is just basically so that all schedules can match up.

A Skype app on my phone and loudspeaker was more than enough for me.
