Madigan off to Bristol
I have received word from my sources that Ian Madigan has just done a deal with Bristol to become one of the highest paid players in the Premiership. This is surely the ringing endorsement untalented players of today need, mediocre players from far and wide will now be thinking they too can somehow become one of the highest paid players in England for no good reason (other than a haircut).
Let's look at what happened since Madigan left Leinster. He made half a million, got to live in France, has lovely hair, didn't even have to play, did I mention his hair? Then as he began to realise he was not as good as he thought, he threw a fuss with the management and now has been signed to another club for even more money.
If hyopthetically speaking Madigan stayed at Leinster, Carbery more than likely overtakes him, Madser doesn't even see a bench spot and not even his hair can save him. His value hits rock bottom and he begs Connacht to take him for 5 shillings per annum.
What this man can do with a haircut knows no bounds, really is amazing to see what such a average player can do with a haircut.
In conclusion, the point of this article is to inspire hard working young men who may not be the most talented rugby players, but have great haircuts, that they too can achieve their dreams of making top dollar.

I'm glad you have asked Kingshu. This is quite a conundrum and could really merit a whole other article, yet I will try to keep it concise. Obviously if you could be talented, young, and have a great haircut this is optimal, everyone knows this. However, young, talented but balding players are a real shame. History speaks for itself, I mean guys like Stringer never stood a chance, Alun Wyn Jones was never really ruled world class due his unfortunately balding forehead. More recently, Robbie Henshaw has suffered hugely from this, with a great haircut, à la Drico 2003, he would be a shoe in to be a Lions test starter. This all gets more complicated as players get older, maybe I'll go into it another day.Kingshu wrote:What do talented but balding young players do?

I heard that Bristol only paid him so much because they thought he was Conor McGregor. They thought it was a bargain as they'd get a cut of the Mayweather fight.

If he added some fake tan to the haircut he could become a legend of the game like Henson - take it to the next level.
You wonder why Rory Best wears a scrum cap? Wouldn't get near the Ireland team without it.
At team meetings he wears a shower cap and tells Joe he's straight of the spa after the meeting!

Losing hi shair did not seem to affect POC's form or selection. Or is that because he was a ginger and going bald was an improvement?

BTW, congrats to Madigan, the mediocre player, who manages to get a top notch Thread dedicated to him.

I don't think you're supposed to put fake tan on your hair.

Unfortunately nobody told Henson.

Lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth at Madigan's move to UK instead of Ireland, I see.
Bit like Marty Moore going to Wasps.
Out of sight, out of mind.

I think it's more a case of just shrugging your shoulders and saying what the hell is hopping and dancing and pulling out our hair going to do about it. A Player doing his thing.
Please Madigan!!! PLEASE!!!! NO!!!! Not you too!? Tell us it ain't so!!!

The only province that might start Madigan are Connacht and he would be on a fraction of the money. At least he can now claim to be the second highest paid Irish flyhalf in the AP.

I was more thinking of shoulder shrugging cos he ain't rated that highly anyway. Have to say that having watched that Byrne to Byrne to Byrne try at the RDS on Sat evening, and Carbery carving through things at full-back, that he ain't missed much. Ross Byrne looks like he's growing that essential arrogance that a top quality 10 needs to have - like the look of the young fella.

Indeed Marty. Getting paid £500k to play in the Championship is quite the deal. Lam might make something of him though. It'll be interesting to watch his progress.

You reckon as said he would only make the Connacht team and there are 4 IQ 10's, from November, who are better
Sexton, Jackson, Carbery, Bleydaal

I think the combination of him and Lam might make people in England who never knew him suddenly remember him
I don't think he's as far gone as people here are making out. Once more onto the Breach, Mads!

Not for coaches anyway. We hear Lam got an offer he couldn't refuse.

Re: Madigan off to Bristol
I guess if there is there might be some leeway for the side coming down? Especially if they had a number of high paid players on long-term deals.
