13 Reasons Why

New series just added up onto Netflix and it's already the most talked about show of the year. Despite being based around a group of teens it's no Stranger Things as it's centred around the suicide of a girl called Hannah and how she left a series of 13 tapes to tell her classmates why they were the reason she killed herself. 
Already it's become quite controversial due to the topic and the danger of copycat 'revenge suicides', personally though I found the series exceptionally well acted and hopefully raises awareness and discussion in a positive way.

My Wife just finished watching it and said it was excellent and should be shown in schools

one episode off finishing it, been excellent so far.

Just watched a trailer for it. Looks good.
May start it tonight.

finished it and it is a brilliant powerful series, would definitely agree that kids could learn a lot from watching it

A few questions to be answered.

This was a pretty heavy show to watch, especially from around episode 9 onwards. That's not to say I never enjoyed it

Was a very moving and powerful portrayal of a pretty taboo subject

I wonder how the second season is going to work. I don't know whether each episode will have a focus on a specific character that changes each episode to see how they deal with the fall out of all that has happened. All I know is I want that Bryce character to be locked up where he belongs. Horrible vile character

It came in for quite a bashing from several media outlets for fear of copycat incidents, has there actually been any?
And even so if there has I imagine that as a result of the show there's been a lot more cases of teenagers feeling able to open up to friends and family regarding issues that previously they felt unable to.

Can't say I agree it would entice copycat case, god forbid anybody did take their life I can't see a television series as giving them the motivation to do it. They've already got their own demons they're battling

I'm with you, I would have thought it would represent more of a reassurance that there's nothing to be embarrassed about and to open up about what they're going through

Thought this series was fantastic. Echo everything said above and will say that I thought there were some very good actors among the cast (The only person I even remotely recognized going in was the guy who played Clay).

He was Jacks son in Lost.
Only place I recognised him from.

Didn't recognise any others.

Think I recognized him from Goosebumps along with a few appearances in different TV shows. Either way, was well acted by a relatively unknown cast.

2 episodes into season 2.

Been a good start.

im 6 episodes in to the second series and it just feels like their adding stuff to flesh out a new season. some of the stuff feels poorly added, with not much reason other than to fit into the 13 episode platform.

dont like the ghost/imaginary Hannah either

I completed it yesterday. I have to agree, C&R, it becomes a recurring them i feel. I won't spoil it for anyone

struggling with the 3rd season. all a bit cliché and doesn't help the new girl is a terribly character

Brilliant show

The first season was brilliant. So touching and deep. The second was alright but the third is awful. You can't add a new character and make her the main part. I hate her and can't watch it because of her.

Didn’t enjoy season 4 that much.

Good show overall though.
