Fatman gave an interview saying that he thinks Biggar will be fine and they aren't calling up anyone else at the moment.tigertattie wrote:To me it's a no brainer
Ford called up and Farrell picked at 12
The other option would be to have Farrell at 10.
Finn is just too flaky to be a Lions class stand off.
I said before the tour started that I would go with with Farrell at 10, Henshaw at 12 and JJ at 13 and I see no reason to change that opinion.
Sexton has looked terrible, Henshaw has improved and we desperately need a creative thinker at 13. Huw Jones would have added a lot to this tour, I would think. Crying shame he got broken just before that. The Lions also need Hogg to step up like never before.

It took me about 4 attempts reading through the thread to realise that we are in fact not suggesting that Ross Ford goes to play 10 with the Lions...

Actually Mr Chinhook would be to small and play too fast and loose for Warrenball.
Just about to make some brekkies and settle down to watch the under 20's, oh the joys of part time semi-retirement.

Ah yes, I ventured into the kitchen and spotted the rest of Young Pipetto's birthday cake from yesterday: so I'm now giggling at the thought of eating birthday cake and watching rugby at ten o'clock in the morning on A WORKING DAY.

Strange decision to kick for goal there given A) our kicker is guff and B) we've done so well from driving lineouts

I have never been on facebook and don't want to be either, but I reluctantly set up an account to try and watch this and it still won't work, just diverts me back to the WR site.
Even more annoyingly, I am now getting lots of emails asking me if these people can be my friends!
As it does not work anyway, I will just de-activate it now!

They've tweeted saying there are problems with their live streams. The Wales game has gone down too.

Apparently if you download HOLA and choose Canada as your location it is on live. Not that I would suggest anything so nefarious.
12-7 in the 33rd minute when the stream seemed to go into a sugar induced coma, or a Jimbo.

12-10 now.
So I get a site which shows it and the stream packs up....is it saying "You can't have your cake and eat it"?
Oh yes I can.

I'll let you off then - the grown ups play on Saturday and hopefully we'll be a lot further ahead at half time.
Worth saying that this Italian under 20s team beat Ireland so are no mugs.

I love the honesty though.
I'm at work but it seems from your comments Italy are stifling our attack in a way Ireland could not. We don't seem to be shredding them up in the backs in the same way.

Sounds like a close run thing, but what sounds encouraging is that we seem to have a really fast gameplan with real attacking nous building a new generation to carry on what the senior team are doing.
Encouraging times for Scottish Rugby.

Well done to the Scots youngsters. A really good effort. I am looking forward to seeing the highlights.
Well done Italy as well, who with 2 BPs may yet go through to the last 8. Sounds like they deserve it. If the Italian system can get these kids through to the Pro teams, then there future looks a bit better as well.

Some good tries in the highlights reel to come.
The Kinghorn penalty at the end was totally bonkers - he charged head first into the ruck from the side. Really don't know what he was thinking! It was a classic back 3 player attempted clearout. He had some lovely runs again though.

Re: Italy v Scotland, 10 June
Random thoughts;
Italy were probably the better side. More clinical decision making, especially around penalties, and they could have been out of sight. Their 8,9 & 10 were superb.
Scotland showed some real grit to hang onto Italy's coat tails and then find a way to win. On 72 minutes I was applauding a brilliant Italian try when Robbie Nairn saved the day with a last ditch tackle. fagerson didn't carry as well as he does when he's at 8, but still put in a Herculean effort. Nairn looks a real prospect. Nicol looks like he could be the new Chunk; certainly in terms of athletic streamlining. kinghorn will be causing ructions on this Forum for some time to come; languid would be the most generous adjective to describe his playing style (and he is a stylish player) but I've got a feeling he'll also attract some less generous comments when things don't work out.

I hope they show the unbelievably bad try balls up he did earlier - it is one of the worst you could see!
He did finish this one fantastically well though and looks like a big strong lad.
Once again questions why Edinburgh felt the need to sign Jason Harries...

Re: Italy v Scotland, 10 June
Territory restrictions are still on the website
Nairn took his try well, sheer individual error on his part. The passing leading up to it was bloomin awful. One pass went behind the man causing him to stop and catch it with his back to the opposition (they really should have clattered him one). The next pass was a slow floating high pass that could have easily been intercepted.
Sharpen up the passing and they'll have a shot at getting further in the competition
