Euro Rugby League Season 4™ Homepage
First topic message reminder :
not the way i see it! lots of people want fourie/jane/beale/evans, but they havn't moved around!
the problems of being good in more then one position, concern is that you guys rate steyn/hook in positions i wouldn't play them if i bought them!

Slade - not many caps and injured, not a standout back up for Carter, Cruden and McAllister pushing hard
Burgess - rate very highly
Phillips - fine as back up
Contepomi - fine as back up
Habana - still top 15, not a weakness
Banahan - fine as back up
Traille - awful at 15, like him and rate him at 12
Bastauread - not in the wc squad, second season syndrome,
Burgess - rate very highly

It's all about ratings I have been in this game nearly a month now and it's easy to know what to do. This is your second time isn't it banafan-aka-hon?
Slade - Very talented player.
Burgess - Impressive scrum-half, but I see Pooly said he has been struggling in recent weeks.
Phillips - Not on form, off to pastures new
Contepomi - Good player to have, one of the best in your backs
Habana - I honestly believe he hasn't done well this season, not impressed me but on overall quality you need to keep him.
Banahan - Good player, but shouldn't start in a game like this.
Traille - I like Traille can play a number of positions, and can impress in any of those positions when showing form.
Basteraud - Not in the French Side, way better centres in this game.
Keep - Contepomi, Habana and Traille
Could keep or improve on - Burgess and Slade
Sell - Basteraud and Phillips
Banahan well

Lukes backs and Hons pack would be lovely! someone should propose that deal!
For what its worth, in this league, I would probably have
Front row: Toulouse
Row: Ospreys
Back Row: Toulouse
Half Backs: Bath
Centres: Saracens
Back Three: Highlanders

Re: Euro Rugby League Season 4™ Homepage
lievramont has a lot to answer for bout leaving certain players out.
Bastereaud should be going as should Chabal.
Traille is ok at 15, just everyone remembers that woeful high ball he fluffed against england. He is a far better 12/10 agreed.
So slade is injured but he's not just a FH and people seem to think he's wc sqyad material for other positions such as FB/WG maybe . . . i don't know.
anyhow basically I do agree I need to do something with my backs but it will be hard with no cash and players to exchange!!
might put a bid in for Gio Aplon,
what do peole think about him - i know he's little but hes pretty good?

Pretty much as Bathite, I rate Slade higher than McA and Cruden at FH.
Luke - like your whole team, no real weakness, much prefer Poitrenaud at FB tho
You say Banahan is tops but he's still only an England squad player not first choice.

I think Poit is awesome at 12 - he runs some seriously good lines from there.

pooly I think he will be starting 12 for england come the world cup mate - he's really taking that position well and I hope he does against Hape who I don't think has cut the mustard.

ok so what do people suggest - I have a bit of cash and maybe strettle, Bendy, Henson to deal with but my squad is low in numbers.
Get Aplon in at FB/WG ? anyone got a decent back going spare?

I don't rate Cruden, very average.
Gio Aplon scored one classic try about a week ago, he has the pace but I don't think he is that good. Fast runner but that's about it for me.
I really rate the Reds pair of Rod Davies and Luke Morahan I think they are better than Aplon, also you have the Ndungane's and Mvovo.

Well that lasted long!
I'd have Masi, Morahan, Rocket Rod near the top of my list

Possibly, think Hape gets a bad rep myself. He suits our game and has never let the side down.

Hape = good prem player but think he's never blown me away for England and me being a bath fan. I know he's off and all that but I think he was weak for England.

He was never weak. He was steady and unspectacular, has a good offload and defends well. Suits our game plan at the time, I'm a fan but would prefer Barritt to be given a shot at 12.

Re: Euro Rugby League Season 4™ Homepage
Squad player, reason Banahan is starting at 12 is because it's his favourite position along with 13 and we haven't got much better. Hape or Allen, not my cup of tea really, but when you look at other international's sides 12's, then without doubt England could lose games just because of there centres.
New Zealand - Nonu, McAlister
Australia - O'Connor, Giteau, Barnes
South Africa - De Jongh, Olivier, De Villiers
Argentina - Contepomi
France - Mermoz, Jauzion, Poitrenaud
Wales - Roberts, Hook, Davies
Ireland - D'Arcy with O'Driscoll is still some force.
No point continuing, Banahan and Hape can't match those players for toffee.

Banahan's defence at 12 isn't great, his defence is good but needs to spend some time there to be Int quality. I'd def take Hape over ban at this moment in time at 12

Masi though can play all over the back line apart from scrum-half.
Player of the Six Nations, I would go for him if he stays fit and doesn't get injured in the next set of injuries he would be a massive player to you.
