Will Fraser retires at 27
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/rugby-union/2017/08/24/exclusive-interview-will-fraser-retires-rugby-27-ten-operations/
A career that sparkled with promise and silverware amid a black plague of injuries ended this summer with a stark prognosis.
“Last year I managed to squeeze in four games before I slipped a disk in my neck and had a significant bleed on the spine,” Fraser explains straightforwardly. “It wasn’t great.
“I was told by the surgeon there wasn’t a decision to be made. That was that. In that respect, it was made easier for me because it was black and white.”
Without too much time to wrack his brains, Fraser can rattle off the 10 operations he has undergone. His hips, knee and right foot account for two each. Both ankles have needed procedures, as has his back and a latissimus dorsi muscle that came away from the bone in the spring of 2013, just before an England cap would almost certainly have arrived on the tour of Argentina.

Real shame. Such a quality player who could have made a massive difference to the england team of a few years ago and now if at his peak.

Awful shame. Very good player.
He was one of the players who came to Bastion to visit a few years ago and at the time was one of the only players I knew. Lovely man too.

Very good openside who would have been a regular international if not blighted by injuries. He's got a lot of medals at home and he's always come across as intelligent and articulate so I'm sure he'll do fine post playing.

Very sad to hear players forced to retire especially when he should be reaching his absolute prime. Just a young man simply plagued by injuries.
Add him to Tom Rees as potential quality 7's England have lost at a time we were crying out for them.

Very sad indeed, a fantastic player when fit. However, if there is anyone who could put a sense of perspective on this then it would be him. For all the negative press Sarries receive, you can't fault them with how they look after ex-players.
