Week 13 Tactics
- Watford:
- ------------------------------Heaton---------------------------
----------Bender----Skriniar-----Evans-----Grimaldo--------
----------------------Vecino-------Keita-----------------------
-------Burke--------------Ounas-------------Gnabry----------
----------------------------Falcao-------------------------------
BENCH

Clucas
Livermore
Zakaria
Assombalonga
Fletcher
TACTICS
They've got two biggies out in Tolisso and Kane, expecting pace abuse with Asensio and a pacey striker in Calvert-Lewin/Abraham/Solanke in their attack, I want the four defenders to stick close together and ensure that there is no space in behind for them to exploit.
Our midfielders should press quickly, with Cyprien their main creator in midfield. Don't let them settle.
We want to be attacking them quickly as their defense can be got at. Falcao's clever movement should see him evade defenders and bring others into the game, with the three behind allowed to interchange. We want a mix of crosses coming in and fast passing through them. Ounas is in the middle because he has the better close control, whereas Gnabry and Burke are speedsters.
SUBSTITUTIONS
Winning
60' – Livermore for Ounas, sit behind the other midfielders (4-1-4-1)
85’ – March for Burke, shore up the right.
If drawing
70’ – Assombalonga for Ounas (4-4-2)
If losing
60' - Assombalonga and Fletcher for Ounas and Burke. Two goalscorers to change the game.
80’ – Clucas for Bender.

GAMEPLAN
Today we're gonna play the 4231 and look to target Watford's Right Back using the pace and trickery of Asensio. Watford's first choice and second choice RB are both injured so whoever plays that side will be coming up against the most inform youngster in world football.
DEFENCE
Orban mark their main striker, Doucoure to do covering. Be vary of Falcao and stay infront of him to stop his poaching ability. Fullbacks make overlapping runs and get crosses into the box. Tousart's main role defend, cut passing lanes and close down attackers. Cyprien will be playing as b2b and will help both attack and defence. Make runs forward, play quick one twos to create space in middle.
ATTACK
Philipp to play quick passes with teammates and make runs into box. Our wingers will look to get at the oppo FB's and use superior pace and dribbling ability to their advantage. Abraham to play off shoulders of defenders, time runs and be ready for crosses into area.
SUBS
drawing/winning 65MINS
Foden for Tousart
Diakhaby for Lewin
- like for like position wise
LOSING 65MINS
Solanke for Tousart
Solanke partner Abraham in strike. Push defence up try and score goals
- Nice:
---------------------Cardinale---------------------
Klostermann——Mere——Kimpembe ——Dalbert
————Bakayoko—Koziello—Seri———----
Saint-Maximin-----Werner————Dembele
Subs: Nkunku, Augustin, Vinicius, Under, Sessegnon, Holding
433 formation today designed to gain control of midfield whilst allowing for variety in attack.
Wingers to play high up pitch to be both effective on counters and to keep opposing FBs contained, work in tandem, creating spaces with movement. All 3 attackers to interchange with wide players drifting inside.
Central trio combination of power, creativity and passing ability. Koziello as DLP/DM, anticipation and awareness, plug gaps & start attacks. FBs hold position, put WGs on wrong foot, push forward when DM covers. Bakayoko B2B - drive forward but also protect flanks when FBs attack. Seri spread the ball and penetrate gaps. Mere & Kimpembe keep it simple, play ball to flanks.
75m Under for Maximin, fresh legs to run at defence
80m Nkunku for Seri
- Swansea:
- ---------------------------------Smithies------------------------------
Naughton-----Mascherano-------------Maguire--------------Olsson-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------Ki----------------------Drinkwater-----------------
------------------------------Sigurdsson--------------------------------
Oxlade-Chamberlain----------------------------------------Montero--
--------------------------------Llorente---------------------------------
Subs: Badaishille, Mawson, Carroll, Davies, Kayode, King
With the arrival of Mascherano and Drinkwater, we will look to play a patient build up game from the back, with both CBs confident on the ball and looking to play out. This is to then create the space in midfield for Sigurdsson to pull the the strings. Pace is then provided by the wingers and full backs to overlap when possible.
Llorente to move in between the CBs, and use his physicality to distract and put the CBs off their game. Balls to feet, pass and move, let them chase shadows, don't be caught over-stretching.
Defensively will attempt to get two banks of players in between the goal and the attackers. The back four need to stay connected at all times to prevent being dragged out of position or becoming isolated.
Late on bring on Davies and King to provide fresh legs and impetus in attack. Their more direct approach, coupled with their pace will hopefully catch Nice off guard.
- Ajax:
- --------------------- Krul
Veltman----Sanchez-----De Ligt-----Stafylidis
------------Motta--------Dembele
Traore------------Ceballos---------Mbappe
--------------------Jesus
Subs - Tuanzebe, Ake, Locatelli, Kluivert, Dolberg, Dembele
Marseille are missing Semedo - we're going to send Mbappe/Traore down that wing repeatedly to attack their back up in that position.
Look to dominate midfield with our 3 - Motta the destroyer, Dembele the box to box player and Ceballos the creator
Jesus/Mbappe free to switch positions, Traore free to switch wings but keep the width to prevent us getting narrow.
When they have the ball, Jesus uses his work rate to drop on to the deepest lying midfielder (Sanson?) and harass him all game long. Ceballos to drop deeper to make it a 3 in midfield, as soon as we win the ball back launch lightning counter attacks with the pace of the front 3.
Sanchez to mark the main striker using his pace and power to put him off his game - De Ligt cover
Full backs to go forward one at a time to support the attack, Motta to cover if they get caught forward
Subs
Winning at 70 - replace tired players with Locatelli/Dolberg/Dembele - use a midfield 3 and go to more of a 4-5-1
Losing at 70 - Dolberg for Motta, 4-4-2 and get the ball in the box with 3 deadly finishers
- Marseille:
- --------------------Pickford--------------------------
Sakai--------Cahill--------Rekik--------------Evra
----------------Sanson---Sertic---------------------
Thauvin------------Lopez--------------Konoplyanka
-------------------Ben Yedder----------------------
Subs: Pele, Doria, Hubocan, Vainqueur, Machach, Linetty, Aduriz.
High press this week when out of possession suffocating the Ajax system. Retain possession ASAP and work the ball around tiring the opponent, Sanson to control this from deep, allowing Lopez to get forward and roam around the final third. Thauvin and Konoplyanka will be operating out wide mixing up the play, cutting inside and whipping the ball into the box for Ben Yedder who will be looking to recieve those crosses and also being fed through from Lopez and Sanson. Sertic is to operate as a wall in front of the back 4 by pressuring them as soon as they come into our final third. Evra and Sakai are to stay solid and alert, looking to cover Cahill and Rekik. Cahill and Rekik will be standing strong operating that back 4 and controlling our final third, playing out from the back is key to possession.
80th - Linetty on for Sertic to provide some energy late on in the match
85th - Aduriz on for Ben Yedder - switch crossing up to floating the ball in to the box looking for the aerial threat
