the greatest musical artist from Hero's 160 subjectively chosen musical artists of the last 100 years
First topic message reminder :
I'm contemplating running a tournament in which 160 of the greatest musical artists of the past 100 years are pitted against each until eventually a winner is decided. It'd be run in group stages with the top two from each group progressing etc similar to other voting tournaments we've run on here.
Picking though the initial 160 musical acts is not an easy feat especially with the wide range of musical tastes, I'm limiting it to the last 100 years as I think it's a step too far to bring in the likes of Mozart etc. I need though your help in picking the 160 acts. Please check through the list below and let me know ones I've missed that you think should be included (with justification as to why) or ones that you think shouldn't be in there (and not just because you don't like them)
Cheers!

Why don't you just go for the 128 best selling?
Best selling doesn't always translate to best artist.
DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber and PSY are the most viewed musical videos of all time, I don't think anyone would wish to vote for them as best musical video.
It depends very much on your definition of best. Either way it's going to be subjective. I was just offering you a way to select your initial participants without all the nonsense. If you don't want to take it shove it up your @rse. Besides which your thread is titled greatest not best your mahoosive c0ckwomble.
Perhaps you should rename this "the greatest musical artist from Hero's 160 subjectively chosen musical artists of the last 100 years".
and, and, and whoever chooses to watch DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber and PSY musical videos may well wish to vote for them as best musical video else I'm not sure why they'd watch them.
That is right out of order.

It's because music is changing from physical record sales to YouTube hits and downloads on spotify
I, for one, will be very disappointed if we don't see Justin Bieber in the final

If this doesn't drag Jeff back to the boards, nothing will.

I'm not trawling through this lot. Anyone know if Dylan or Tom Petty have got through to the next round? (Assuming they've been subjectively chosen)
