Basta - not a fan, too one dimensional.
Would replace conte banana and keep traille at 12
Kirchner - don't mind him, wouldnt want to start him, prefer delon and i got told kirchner was a weakness when he was in my team

I wouldn't play Contepomi on the wing mate, he's FH & CN material

Prefer that second line up Hon with the French midfield. You really do need a specialist FB though.
I like Kirchner- he does the basics well but is never gonna set the world on fire. I think the Saffers like stability at 10 and 15 which is why he's gettting picked - he wouldn't for NZ, Oz or even England I don't think.

Banahan would be a 12 - but I would like

Agree with Pull that centre partnership would be the worst in the league.
You have to play Traille at 12, and buy a new 13 or play Banahan there.

SO you saying defender don't think of Banahan or Bastareaud as a threat, is that why they double, or even three man them when they try coming throughthe line

It's just because they are big and chunky they aren't dangerous players.

Banahan is a cracking player! He's pigeon holed into being one dimensional because of hos ridiculous size for a back.
He's got lovely soft hands which he used to great affect in the centres last season putting Bath's dangerous back 3 into gaps

Hon - a midfield of Banahan and Basteraud would be so easy to play against. Just tackle them - it's not like they'll go around you.

Re: Euro Rugby League Season 4™ Homepage (2)
thats made me think about what might be the most bruising XV in your opinion, taking into account ball carrying and tackle count?
1. Soane Tonga'uhia
2. Steve Thompson
3 Martin Castrogiovanni
4. Courtney Lawes
5. Bakkies Botha
6. Willem Alberts
7. Richie McCaw
8. Henry Tuilagi
9. Mike Phillips
10. Johnny Wilkinson
11. Alesena Tuilagi
12. Matt Banahan
13. Mathieu Bastareaud
14. Napolioni Nalag
15. Jack Cuthbert
that team would have a good tackle count for and against!

thats because Lieveramont is a nut job, he hasn't included Chabal int he squad even though he's had one of his best seasons - he's not a good manager and will cause France to self destruct int eh WC tournament . . .

"9. Burgeess - one of the best 9's in the world. Sometimes prefer him to Genia for the Wallabies - does the basics better. Not as exciting though."
I think the complete opposite to that. Burgess has slipped massivley over the season and will be
lucky to make the Aus squad.
His basics are the issue....they're not great. He's a real threat around the fringes usually though. Genia has fantastic basics and has really added a running threat over the last year or so.
Best scrum half I've seen this year is Sarel Pretorious with Genia not far behind but I'd still take a firing Parra or FdP above them.
Kirchener can be pretty awful, rate Delon a fair bit higher.

Them forwards looked pretty good until you got to Phillips.
Basteraud, Banahan, Cuthbert do you have a mental age of 5?
Basteraud wouldn't of been picked anyway, even if Lieveramont was coach. Mermoz, Marty, Jauzion, Rougerie, Estebanez and Mazars are all better.

A whole day of Super Rugby on Sky Sports tomorrow from 8.30 till about 6.00 in the evening, five matches being shown.
Anybody going to watch any of them or all of them, final bits of the season starting to unravel so it's very exciting.

I do like Basteraud but I don't think he should be in the French WC squad. Marty & Rougerie would be first choice 13's, Bast is off their standard imo.

Anybody watched Crusaders v Blues and Highlanders v Waratahs this morning?
Beale looking excellent and that Tom Carter the Waratahs centre looks mighty impressive.
Carter's kick to Guildford against the Blues, was excellent play. One more week after today tension and excitement building up.
