Re: Euro Rugby League Season 4™ Homepage (2)
Would anybody be interested if I created a World Cup game on here?
Australia
England
France
Ireland
New Zealand
South Africa
Wales
Australia A
New Zealand B
Those being the teams 10 managers might be enough if I can get enough interest.
What do you think?

nice idea mate but just wouldn't have the time to do both . . . have you thought about doing a legends league? Where you can have any player in your team past or present and they are rated as though they are in their prime?
that would be interesting? imagine a team with players like Blanco + Habana + Spencer + JPR Williams etc . . . that would a fun league

I'd be interested Bear. Would be good to see you run a game and see how much work it is, the amount of stick you give this game!
I did try an international league, as did Driver unsuccessfully though.
I'm not sure people know enough about the legends Hon.. we're not all 45!

Re: Euro Rugby League Season 4™ Homepage (2)
The main rules being pools of players, as we have big teams like Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, France and lets say England I catergorise different quality of players into four pools.
As New Zealand and Australia have strong fields of talent they get a A and B team.
You have to pick a certain amount of players from Pool 1 - Those players being for example, McCaw, Read, Carter, Cooper, Ashley-Cooper etc..
Pool 2 players would be players who are international quality but have say 10-20 caps like Guildford, Thomson, Lambie, Alberts etc...
Pool 3 - Being decent players on brink of international or decent Super 15 players or as in England's case Aviva Premiership, players like Rod Davies, Jarrad Payne, Joe Marler, Sarel Pretorius.
Pool 4 - Being mediocre players not that good but not so poor either, like Scott Hamilton, Tom Carter, Ugo Monye etc...
You have to pick a certain amount of players from each pool, so for the people who may choose Ireland or Wales they get a good chance of doing well in the game.
Another key rule being you have to field 5 players from Pools 3 and 4 in every game week, got that idea from the Aviva Premiership game as you have to play a special amount of English players.
I will try and set it out a bit clearer if I get interest on here first.

Or what about a legends game no harm in trying.
Maybe better don't have to mess with pools then.
But the players who you choose must have played for that team between 1990 to 2010.
Not 1970 or 80's players as the younger one's won't have a clue what they are doing.

lol - I think you just make up your their own teams as it will be impossible
e to base it on a set side due to players moving around so much in their careers - and then people choose their own players . . . maybe take it in turns to pick players up to 15 then get given say another 10 randomly!
after that start buying as usual!
just a thought if you do it!

You have google inthefastlane.
Just check former players from every country, and see who you like the look of. You surely know players from the 2000-2008 era lets say?

I think 1990 - 2010 would be the way to go if you did a legends game. Maybe give each manager £500 mil and let them spend it on who they want - a squad of say 25.
Prefer the international teams idea though.

I think once you have the managers it would be good to at least let them take turns in picking some players, say 5 or 6 then letting them buy the rest?

Think a new different idea would be good. Not this game but not the Ap. Somewhere in between. Internationals usually fail because cash is worthless. Who can you sign in foreigns :L
Maybe you have no squad and each day you add a player from £500m until you have a 25.

Think the legends game may be better, if internationals have a bad track record.
You will be fine inthefastlane im sure of that, just look on google at different country's what players have high caps or high value records then go from there.

Could just do a normal game of current players but you have £500 mil to spend on a squad? The teams could be the AP teams but with no squads.
Anyway I'm off. The matchday thread will be up tomorrow afternoon.

Always keen to try something new and both ideas sound like fun. Not sure about legends league though, as its so open to debate. Everyone on here is a different age and nationality, club supporter, so its difficult enough trying to work out who is rated with current players. With legend players, there is too much open to interpretation

When it says league and it leads you to the page how do you do that.
Do you have to put a tag or something around it?

Also the thing with legends. Do you take them at their peak? what about players who can be brilliant, can be Poopie. In some sports - like boxing - lots of people think the legends are better than the current crop will it be similar

yeah I hear waht your saying - I think for some players like Lomu you would take them at their peak, where they didn't really do any wrong apart fro teh odd knock on, I wouldn't take his latter days playing.
But for some like Campese or King Carlos you would have to take into account thier magic but also thier ability to mess it right up. But as some say you can forgive them as they were just too good when they got it rght!!

They would all be available, you have to think of them when they were good of course.
You can't rate them on being rubbish can you, we all know how good Lomu, Du Randt, Johnson, Greenwood were.
Just have a look on the homepage and the rules and see what you think, open to everyone on here and the guys over on the Aviva game.

Well nobody is interested in the legends game so it won't be happening.
Unless somebody else sets one up, like you banafan-aka-hon or driver your good with that stuff or even pullthestrings but doubt you want all that on your hands.
Doing your greatest teams looks exciting, but haven't got any interest yet.

Where it says rules on this game I don't know how to make that happen and when you click on it, it leads you to the rules page, im sure driver, lukelovesluka or pullthestrings can tell me how to do that.
