Lawyers are at random aren't they? Or are we able to select them in that weird format you went for previously?

Re: Challenge League Homepage
Miky,
Just PMd you the fixtures. Can you stick them up on the fixtures page please.
Can everyone just double check I haven't made any glaring mistakes. I have checked that everyone features home and away 9 times each, and that everyone votes the same number of times (27 games over the 18 weeks). I also checked that no one was voting on their own game.
What I couldn't easily check was that everyone was only playing once each week and also that everyone played everyone else twice (once at home and once away). it should be the case as I used a fixture generator, but worth double checking please

I've tried posting them up but the formatting doesn't paste in correctly and it messes up, could you send me the raw document at all?

I’ll post them up on a new page of the fixture topic in a bit. You should be able to copy over to get main topic then

Ok thanks a lot.
Awesome job by the way, i had a look through but if people have a look through themselves just to make sure, it would be appreciated.

Surely releases and lawyers have to be later than the foreign transfer market opening?

As far as I'm aware lawyers were certainly going to be after the window opening, not as sure of releases.

You're never going to please everyone with timings.
I'm not going to be around at all Monday morning - which is why I was insisting for the first week or two it should be some kind of bidding war. We're all going to be after the same few players.

I'd tend to agree .. the first week of TPs should be a bidding war
What am I meant to do if someone makes me work on Monday morning?!

I've got a target in mind for Monday, if i don't get the target cos someone else goes for them, i will either try and do deals for him or just go after another target, there is plenty of quality in the TM market.

I haven't a clue on my target as of yet though I suspect there's 3 or 4 people wanting 1 player.

Re: Challenge League Homepage
There's loads of players out there. The majority of players who get bought in the first few weeks won't be as important to their teams in 10 weeks time, so if it is bidding wars I think I'll sit back and wait for the initial rush to be over.

I have a player I want and I know others will too. He is critical to my system.
If it was a bidding war I'd happily pay twice their value to get them.

Re: Challenge League Homepage
We aren't having bidding wars mate.
I've set the rules as they are with Hero and we are sticking to it, i apologise if you can't get on until half 9 or whatever the case is but you may end up benefiting from it, who knows.

Re: Challenge League Homepage
I reckon there are 3 players under £20m that are worth a lot more, in terms of ability, than their current TM value.
One will take up a huge chunk of your budget, so not worth doing if you want a competitive squad.
One is decent, but isn't such a superstar that you couldn't get an alternative easily
And one is injured and there's no guarantee he will play when is back, nor will he be the same player given the nature of the injuury

Could we compromise and do a blind auction for the initial transfers, like we've done in the past?

Re: Challenge League Homepage
You mean two bids in a PM to a neutral party. Those bids that are for the same player, the highest one wins.
As most of us have 20m still then that's going to be comical.

Re: Challenge League Homepage
Seeing as everyone is going to be wanting the same few players to start with, why not do an auction
Miky/whoever names a player up for auction
Everyone who wants to sign that player sends in a blind bid for that player to a neutral party
Highest bid wins
Fairest system for those who are going to be in such high demand and doesn't prevent anyone who might actually have to work on Monday morning from being able to compete for these players

I'm right behind you Miky. I don't really care what approach is used, but for me, you have made it clear what is going to happen and how it is going to work. That is end of story for me.
I hope it was clear from my idea that I was joking, and not just come across that I am an idiot?
