Apparently Wales haven't won their opening Autumn international since beating Romania in 2002.

Not sure what the Australia 3 matches is actually showing in OP. After all they have played Scotland and Italy in 2017, and France on 19/11/16.
Some inexperienced names in the Wales lineup will make things interesting.

Bugger I just took it off the WRU website, perhaps it's last 3 AI's matches.

Anyway.
It'll be interesting to watch Navidi at 7 on Saturday, he is a bit bigger that any other 7's we have in my opinion, and his ball carrying could be massive in this game.

Feel for Dee, with Dacey benching again. Also feel a bit for Seb Davies, who I would’ve chosen over Hill. Team as expect really though. Owen Williams very much a stopgap until Parkes is available v SA.

Dee, Davies, Brown, Cross would be a ridiculously inexperienced bench though.

No Samoans, three Fijians (if you include Samu Kerevi, who moved to Australia as a boy).

Quite happy and excited about the team we've put out. Our locks are big hitters so Gats has picked the same back-row as I would have, all three are pretty good at everything. Shingler is definitely the in-form blindside I just hope he can replicate it for Wales. I've always rated Navidi pretty highly so I watch him with great interest, slightly underwhelmed about the 7 to come off the bench though. How Aled Davies is even in this squad in the first place I don't know, and if he happens to get on the pitch he'll likely f^*k everything up.

Yeah the grand old master is back after teaching Itoje everything he knows; a shame he couldn't rub off on Kruis though. I heard him and our new boy Leon Brown battered your boys in training too, seems there's life in the old dog .

Like Wales you mean - both starting teams have 4 players born outside the country
3 of the Welsh players moved to Wales as children, 2 of the Australians moved to Australia

Yeah I don't get those comments, especially when most international teams have average kiwi club players line up for them.

Re: Wales v Australia - 11th November
Anyway, as I said earlier, I am looking forward to see if Navidi can carry as much for Wales as he does for Cardiff Blues, we will need his go forward, and he is good at hitting the correct angles as well.
Secondly I really hope Steff Evans gets a lot of chances with the ball in hand, he is the stand out form player in Wales at the minute. I am really excited to see how he can perform.
It looks like Gatland is going to try and mirror what Scarlets have been doing, and that is punish teams by running at them before they have a chance to organise, with quick offloads, and good kick chases.
This will be a very interesting Autumn.

Geoff points out your obvious bluster, you then deflect knowing you've been caught out

Just pointing out the error of your ways LD - which are numerous
By the way I was wrong only 2 of the non Welsh lads move their as kids so the stats are identical for Wales and Australia
Incidently that is twice as many non-native born players in the starting XV as Ireland

Anyway, back to Wales V Australia.
I would like to congratulate Alyn Wyn Jones on winning his 111th cap for Wales, Alyn captains Wales again during this latest AI series.
I know he is not rated by many outside Wales, but what he has achieved for both region and country cannot be denied, I for one am glad he is ours, and I would not swap him for any other player, I am sure he will be the player we all know he is again this Autumn, and he will no doubt be massive with the less experienced players we will be seeing around him.

Looking at those big Aussie centres, I do hope that Owen Williams is up to it in regards to his defence. So far at Glos, it hasn't been standout.

Very pleased to see Navidi getting a chance, I only worry he will find it a stressful experience knowing he has to score at least three tries to keep his place. Am a bit worried that after years of having had large backs we are downsizing when other teams, particularly Australia, are following our lead and picking bigger backs.
Still am very much looking forward to the game

Have to agree on Owen Williams - he has been poor for Gloucester and in particular has been weak in defence

I never had any confidence with him defending the 12 channel for us either. Do hope he goes well though.

This is my big worry. I often get the feeling that Gatland will only make changes to his 'formula' when there has been a big outcry in the media and from ex players and pundits. To appease the masses, if you will. I always sense he's happy to say 'told you so' when it doesn't work and he then has justification to go back to tried and tested game plan. Gatlandball or Warrenball (I forget the difference) is low risk and defence based so it gets us close to teams quite often but is often not enough to gets us a win (see the history v Aus). A more attack focused team will be more high risk and if we don't get a win we could end up getting a hiding, and que 'told you so' and a decision that we could have been closer (but no cigar) playing the old way so we'll go back to that for the 6N.

Jaysus lads - will you all cheer up.
You might win, you might not.
However, it's a chance to see some new combinations and so let's have some respect for that. WRU have placed themselves entirely in Gatland's hands so let's not struggle against the puppet strings. Good luck - I hope you snap the streak but if not, don't worry about it.

George, the flak we'll get on here for not beating them again is perhaps what's making us glum. Que the calls from Lions 'fans' that another defeat to Aus proves player 'X' shouldn't have been on the Lions tour; que 'we're better than you because we beat Aus a year ago', etc., etc. You have to take the rough with the smooth on here of course, but it's perhaps what's at the back of our minds. More fire fighting.
