Three new signings for Tigers
Leicester Tigers have recruited three of England's brightest young talents ahead of the 2011/12 campaign.
The nine-times Premiership champions have agreed terms with Kieran Brookes, Graham Kitchener and Micky Young who are all currently with the England Saxons at the Churchill Cup.
Brookes, a prop, and scrum-half Young will move from Newcastle Falcons, while second-rower Kitchener was part of the Worcester Warriors squad which gained promotion to the Aviva Premiership in the 2010/11 season.
"We're delighted to be able to add such promising young talent to our squad. We hope they all enjoy a successful Churchill Cup this summer and we look forward to them joining us in time for the build-up to the new season," said Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill.
"We've brought a number of young players through to our first-team squad in the last couple of seasons and we think these three have the potential to develop well within our environment.
"It is important for this club to retain a strong, young English core to the squad and we have an excellent record in that regard."
Brookes, 20, has played almost 40 first-team games in two years with Newcastle Falcons, while 22-year-old Young has made 79 senior appearances since his debut in 2007/08.
Kitchener, 21, was among the try-scorers in the England Saxons win over the USA last Saturday and made 32 appearances in Worcester's Championship-winning season.

finally making official what everyone has know for months.
Good signings though - Young in particular as he is good enough to take some of the workload off Youngs next season... and got the right name to cause some real confusion.

Just imagine if Bens brother gets a game at Hooker as well.
Still not as bad as Wales potentialy having 2 S Williams' and an M Milliams in their squad, alongside 4 Jones', plus a Morgan first name and a Morgan surname in the mix.

I hope the two lads from Falcons improve with the experiences of winning things that comes with the Tiggers. I know they might end up turning out for England with the Leicester tag, but in our hearts we know where they REALLY come from.
What with the others (including Spud) from the NE, that Tiggers dressing room is going to have a canny bit crack going on.

Is Brookes a tighthead or a loosehead?
Great signings these, and when you add Mathew Tait to the equation, you have to say that Leicester have really done the business in the transfer market this summer.

Again Leicester eliminate the smaller clubs chances of doing well by taking their better young players.
It's as if they've only signed the lads they have this summer with the world cup in mind. Once that's over theyll have the rest of the players back and these lads will end up in their second XV

Re: Three new signings for Tigers
Young will probably be at least on the bench and pushing for the starting place. Brookes will be behind Cole and Castro at tighthead but given the amount of time Cole is missing (at least 13 weeks during the season) and the fact he covers the whole front row I can see him getting plenty of time. Kitchener is a curious one but Tigers have had injury problems there, Blaze retired and Deacon is in trouble. Do we really want our young players to walk into 1st team rugby? Isn't it better that they have to push for it?

Not really - rugby is very much a team game, I'd expect all of them to get decent game time even after the WC and then there will still be the 6 Nations to come as well.
I agree on your first point, Tigers aren't alone in doing it but all the bigger teams do it - I'd like to see something done to find away to help smaller teams hold on to the talented players they develop.
