Not awkward with anyone in particular, it just became a place with too many negative associations - both on and off court. Might partly be due to me seeing things more negative than they really are, but even with that, it was time to remove myself from it, rather than keep struggling.

Fair enough. It's better to surround yourself with more positive trivia. This is important.

The Kendo people from Tasmania have all just about left. 3 went back yesterday; the last one was moving fairly gingerly last time I saw.
Even though they are covered in thick protective padding... some of the blows must leave their mark. Especially after a few days of it.

I note one of them won the award for: "The Best Fighting Spirit" of the tournament. Judged by an 80+ y.o. Japanese master who is actively involved yet doesn't have to move much because of his highly esteemed status. One must show great respect to him at all times and only touch him lightly, if at all.

No. The supervisor of my shift either got sacked or on a disciplinary with 3 or 4 other employees so we're both shorthanded and got extra work. 22 shifts booked for next month and might end up at 25. The money is helpful but god almighty I am knackered.
