Fussball v Shakhtar Senseless
- Voter 1:
- Fußball vs Shaktar
I liked what Trebs tried to do here, always liked the 4-4-2 and the side feels balanced. the only problem is that the high line he sets out plus Valencia and Young who for me aren't the best defensively really plays into Marky's hands. Zlatan doesn't have the pace to penetrate a high-line but he does have the hold up play and intelligence to to set the fast wingers free. I can see Marky winning the midfield battle as well...so although tactically Trebs has done well it's just today he called it wrong and a narrow away win for Shaktar.
- Voter 2:
- Win for Fussball
I think the front 4 of Fussball have too much pace for Shakhtars CB. Fussball width tactics will stretch Shakhtar even if they were expecting 3 at the back.
- Voter 3:
- I think this is a Shahktar win. Trebs has played a high line and whilst Ederson will help to be able to do that, Jones and Kompany can be got at with pace in behind. And that is exactly what Marky has targeted.
Trebs was also expecting a back three and his attacking strategy was to stretch, whereas the back four that Marky has negates this tactic.
- Result:
- Shakhtar - Split win

Ebbsfleet United v Cape-Coast Mysterious Dwarfs
- Voter 1:
- Olly voted for Dwarfs - awaiting feedback
- Voter 2:
- Ebbsfleet vs the cape coast massive
Although Ebbsfleet's formation is fugly, and it's tailored very much to getting David Silva into the game in a Pirlo-role, I'm not sure it works as I struggle to see the link from midfield to attack - certainly makes them hard to break down, and that Dwarfs front line is tasty.
the midgets are much more pleasing on the eye and the side have a more natural feel about them, even if they do have more left footed defenders in that side than the rest of league in total.
for me the biggest tell in this game is that Iniesta and Silva operate in the same part of the pitch, and as a by-product if Silva being at DM he manages to nulify Iniesta for long spells.
Ultimately there has to be a winner and I think the midgets have just too much attacking power and at some point they will carve out a chance. Chiellini from a corner. Midgets win
- Voter 3:
- Dwarfs v Ebbsfleet
Dwarfs
+ Recognises strengths and weaknesses of opponent well
+ A fit Reus is a game changer (but see below), long term wise it could prove beneficial Seri is also a classy purchase- Reus is a risk and hard to vote upon based upon his injuries in the short term
- A lack of back up keeper means an in game injury to Subasic is disastrous
Ebbsfleet
+ CBs zonal marking works against a set up designed to create space and drag markers
+ Targeting to injury the keeper is a good spot, sneaky and underhand but I like it- David Silva at DLP. There’s a difference between could he play there in his advancing years and being bold enough to do it, I’d want to see him show that in RL before I voted for it in game.
- Neres and Tosun I’m not too sure on as yet, if Tosun proves it at Everton then great.
Overall putting Silva at DLP is a risky gamble, understand the mention of Goretzka and Dendoncker to sit in front of defence but personally I want to see Silva in a more advanced free role, think this restricts him too much. Overall Afro’s tactics are safe, there’s nothing particularly exciting or daring in them but it does the job, Twist’s maverick style excites me but vanilla beats chilli here.
Dwarfs win - Reus is a risk and hard to vote upon based upon his injuries in the short term
- Result:
- Dwarfs Unanimous

Re: Week 11 Results
Fiorentina Turner v Kalamazoo Outrage
- Voter 1:
- Turner v Outrage
This essentially is the same formation for both sides, with Asensio dropping deep similar to how Chiesa is lined up for Turner. Outrage look to have the stronger CB unit, which will be pretty crucial against a narrow line up, and I'd expect them to deal with Chiesa/El Sharaawy well. I think Outrage have a bit more quality in their front 2, and they'll be a test for the 75m man
Both sides will more or less cancel out each other's tactical/formation advantages, so I have to pick this based on player quality.
The Outrage front two and SMS from midfield just have the burst and creativity to be able to expose the Turner defence, and win this
Outrage win
- Voter 2:
- Olly votes - Outrage win (still waiting for feedback)
- Voter 3:
- Tina Turnher - Kalamazoo - Tina Turner
Literally both had the same idea so makes this a Poopie game at best. Hero edges defensively, Tino edges midfield, Just about who you prefer up front which makes life easier cos i like El Shaarawy and not a fan of Werner (soz Hero) also why Asensio up front and not Maxi Gomez? Utter f*cking noncery that.
- Result:
- Outrage - Split win

Re: Week 11 Results
Deportivo Moron v Olympique Marswag
- Voter 1:
- Win for Moron
Close game and both have picked each other's tactics well and with tactics to counter it (narrow system v possession based). However Marswag are vulnerable with their injuries and Moron have set up well to get maximum benefit.
- Voter 2:
- Deportivo Moron vs Olympique Marswag
I like that Miky has reacted to Bam's tactics, deciding to use width in his attack with Alba and Meunier both fantastic players going forward. There are a couple of weaknesses in their side, Chalobah and Coric aren't good enough (obviously unlucky with two CBs out). Guedes and Coman are both obviously class players, but I can see Fernandinho and Tolisso dealing with them well - I think a better striker than Dolberg is required, and possibly an upgrade on Henrichs. Midfield is class but I can see Tolisso and Fernandinho overpowering them.
Marswag win.
- Voter 3:
- Deportivo Moron v Olympique Marswag
Both sides are very good when fully fit, however unfortunately for Marswag, the injuries crippled their defence, and while Chalobah isn't bad, he wasn't able to give a good enough platform alongside Rugani (who I'd argue needs a more experienced partner alongside him anyway), and it was an invite for the Moron front three despite the great fullbacks of Marswag. Marswag would have been able to get at the Moron defence too but I'd see Moron winning a close but high scoring game. Maybe 3-2 if I was giving scores. Marswag injury victims, but ultimately Miky needs to get better strength in depth to avoid this in future.
- Result:
- Moron - Split

Cheers for the results. That Juanfran injury screwed me over with Marky doing the tactical reshuffle.

Re: Week 11 Results
See my feedback below
Ebbsfleet vs Dwarfs - Dwarfs win
Ebbsfleet feedback -
- Playing David Silva DM is utter madness. He's one of the best in the world at getting between the lines and finding space as an CAM, why you'd want him to just sit deep I have no idea. Not using your other CMs as options when he had the ball was weird too imo
+ I like the attacking ethos of your team overall, which I think does cause Dwarfs issues, love Neres/Brandt on the wings personally.
+ Would look to improve your CBs next in your squad imo
Dwarfs feedback -
+ You've identified his weakness at FB due to injury well, and really counter their tactics perfectly. Callejon and Reus run absolute riot in this game with the space they have.
Not a huge deal else to say on this one for Dwarfs, you've got a really good squad and it's just making sure you continue to produce good tactics based on your opponent each week to continue climbing the table
Tina vs Outrage - Outrage win
Overall - think you've both cancelled each other out formation/tactic wise here personally, it's a bit of a turgid game with the middle being so crowded. I've gone for an outrage win because I prefer their CMs to Turner's and I think Werner/Asensio carry more of a threat than El Shawaary/Chiesa. Close game but just a Outrage win
Tina feedback -
+ Like your tactics in this one, you've really identified how to play agianst Hero imo.
+ The Van Dijk signing was just what your defence needed
- I'm not the hugest fan of you playing De Rossi and Marchisio together, I'd look to play one and use the other off the bench, with maybe two more CMs ahead of them with a bit more dynamism
Outrage feedback -
+ Like the role you've given Asensio here, I think it's his best one in that free role. Would look to use it more often if I were you.
+ Identified your opponents tactics well
- Would maybe look to improve the GK next if I were you

I read it as a free role starting from the centre .. maybe would have been clearer if you put him behind Werner like Tino did with Chiesa, but I saw the role as the same

Not that it was my game to vote on, but I'd say that doing in the formation
1) looks like an terrible formation, and 2) doesn't shout out free role, more a withdrawn role.
Whereas putting "Asensio with free role, look for knockdown, go into channels and take on players" is much clearer as to what he will be doing
Romero
Lenglet---Silva---Skriniar
Hysaj---Pellegrini---Locatelli---SMS---Grimaldo
Asensio

Re: Week 11 Results
I didn't play Silva as a DM, I said he was a deeper lying playmaker - I wanted to counter Afro marking him out the game and losing the one chance i might have of winning. Without the ball Goretzka and Dendoncker were set up to go behind Silva and flesh out the the three CBs.
I am just wondering whether if I had changed this:
------------------------Neto--------------------------
-----------Bartra-------Mina-----Martinez----------
-------------------------Silva---------------------------
Neres--------Goretzka------Dendoncker----Brandt
------------------Tosun-------Bakambu---------------
to this.....
------------------------Neto--------------------------
-----------Bartra-------Mina-----Martinez----------
Neres----Goretzka----Silva----Dendoncker----Brandt
------------------Tosun-------Bakambu---------------
But had the exact same tactics, it would have been viewed more favorably. Even though it is exactly the same unless you are basing results on the look of the formation only and not the tactics.
Just pondering, especially based on Afro's post about Asensio above

Re: Week 11 Results
if i play 2 up top and tell one he can do what he wants but run the channels id still expect him to be considered a forward honestly just reads like when rashford plays up top but drifts left from time to time admittedly now due to jose he spends all his time there now.

Re: Week 11 Results
A lot of people don't bother reading the tactics. I've noticed it before on several occasions and it's why I think it should be one person doing results.
I personally think there is one game this week which definitely should have ended in a draw. And I think playing David Silva DM was a very clever move

Re: Week 11 Results
playing silva as a deep lying playmaker or a DM or whatever imo was stupid because 1. nobody has ever seen him do it in real life and 2. you've removed literally the best player in the league at the AM position from his best position
silva's game is clever movement, getting into pockets of space, playing clever little through balls - i get the idea of trying to stop Afro marking him out the game, but i think you just overthought it because id say Silva can out wit any DM in the league atm

Re: Week 11 Results
That's it in a nutshell. It's all about opinions. I feel like I need to keep a log of what you guys say and then build my tactics around who is voting rather than who I'm playing
All fair comments though. I quite like being a maverick tactics wise even if it doesn't mean a win. I await Silva to grow a beard and be a regista

Re: Week 11 Results
I'm with Olly on this. You took Silva away from what he is good at, and I just don't see him dictating play from deep.
Whilst I can see you trying to take him out of the clutches of a man marker, moving him deep effectively had the same impact.
