The 4-2-4 worked so well for me last week, that like any two bit manager who stumbles across a winning formula, I'm not changing the shape despite the opposition being completely different Laugh

That was my first thought tbh. I genuinely think I would have been even more upset if it had been 0-0.

I have one more thought on what I can do differently. Failing that I'll be out of ideas

You were unlucky, hit the bar, fair few decent efforts, think it could have easily been a few goals more for both of us and Carrasco should have buried it at the end. Was at least a decent game and there was a lot more intent there from your side.

Good goal, although my guys were clearly ignoring the "Pressure" instruction as they just backed off. Felt the game was even overall, but you took a chance and yet again I didn't.

Roll on next week versus Olly!

Question for the masses...

Manager A has made their 2 signings for the week.
Manager B makes an offer involving a pot of cash to Manager A.
Manager A instead asks Manager B if he could instead use that cash to buy a player from foreigns to include in offer. Manager B has the foreigns available to do this.

Would this be frowned upon?

Yes. It is circumventing the 2 player limit in TPs. Had it in the past and the transfers were reversed

Don't see why not, no different to any other domestic deal I guess.

He could have bought the player without any of us knowing you wanted him as part of the deal and sold him to you next week and we would have been none the wiser

I think anyone buying a player from the TPs on the knowledge that they are doing so to sell on to another team is getting around the TP limit. Why don't you just wait until Tuesday?

Also true. I imagine Hero wants to bring in 3 players from TPs next week with the fortune he's going to get from Nads

Fine to wait till then!

Cash wise the player I want is worth the amount Nadz was offering to me so I suggested instead he bought the player.
So to confirm is there any issue with Nadz buying the player now, playing him this week and then transferring him to me on Tuesday.
Or would people prefer him to just give me the cash and I make the purchase on Tuesday.

And on a separate note which someone's pointed out to me...
I put forward the rule that any team's bench can only have a maximum of 1 keeper on it. It's not happened yet but a loophole could be exploited where a manager can fill his bench with 4 keepers or more and that then makes the CPU chose the remaining outfield subs to come on as it never seems to pick keepers.

I couldn't have been more upfront over it and I'm happy to renage on one of my foreigns next week to put it through. Others have in the past been underhand in doing similar and there's actually no rule ever been put in place to stop it despite it happening previously.

I think the risk is it being seen as getting around the TP limit. The second risk is that someone else may have been planning to buy him Tuesday (not me btw as he was on my list but I don’t have the cash) and you have effectively taken him of the market and reserved him.

Spirit of the game should be that no one should use their TPs to the benefit of someone else.

I deliberately tested the water quite hard with Nadz earlier and it is quite clear he is keeping hold of Nainggolan in order to trade him and get Asensio of you.

Fair enough, I think you are genuinely not trying to find loopholes and If you give up 1 of your 2 TPS then this counters the first problem. Bur not the second. I think this probably happened because Nadz jumped the gun, and you would have just waited until Tuesday after discussing it on here.

What I've suggested to Miky is that Nadz can either keep Nainggolan for a month and not trade him or the transfer is cancelled and we go back to the original deal of cash involved.
Being that once the market opened on Tuesday at midnight no-one else would have had 40m in their bank unless they went mental on releases I could them acquire him before anyone got lawyers.

Regarding the Nainggolan transfer...

I'm going to set a rule here to keep things clear.

Nadz you have the option to revert the Nainggolan deal if you are planning to trade him within the league over the next month (28 days from the 26th April). This will mean the same for any player going forward. If you and Hero still want to do the deal and then Hero buys Nainggolan on Tuesday as planned then that is fine but anything other than that is not being allowed.

No I wouldn’t. You already know I hate releasing and writing off 25% of a players value.

My interest in Asensio is genuine though, so please
Negotiate. I could use my cash to help get you up to what you need for Nainggolan

A month is too long imo. I was close to trading Higuain to Afro after about 10 days but it definitely wasn't the intention when I signed him

2 weeks seems fairer to me
