Piccini will be on his way after only a week at Victory. He couldn't cope with our party culture!

Viera being removed is rather annoying
Then losing 3 CMs to injury is even worse! Hero, I'll make some transfers off my phone later when I'm at the airport, will let you know when ready for tactics

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
One of the players I want to buy was lawyered on May 7th - I'm not going to be around after today until next week, so would be unable to make any transfers later this week
Would it be possible for me to buy that player now even though we're a day short of the 1 month stipulation?
If it makes any difference, it's the player that I'll be replacing Viera with

Noone lawyers on 7th May, but a load on the 8th.
No problem with me, although there is also a midfielder lawyered on the 8th who I was considering bringing in so I might regret it

Morning Tino.
Let me know when you are ready to do tactics. I'm not in a rush this week, but can fit in doing mine whenever you do yours.

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
Cheers Hero.
Now both friendlies are out the way, what do people think will be the England team for the Tunisia game?
Me personally, before last night there were two positions up for grabs and that was CB and LWB.
I think Young did enough to jump ahead of Rose at LWB, and then Rose didn't do enough to reverse that.
I also think Cahill played himself in contention again, and Maguire didn't do enough to keep his place.
On top of this, you have to pick based on performance and Rashford now has to start in the number 10 role in place of Sterling.

mornin all, didn't watch the game so can't comment
Cahill would start over Maguire for me by default, young England side needs some experience in there. Id go with sterling over Rashford myself

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
Seems to be Dele and Lingard deeper, Kane and Sterling up top. I'd definitely drop Dele for Sterling deeper and play Rashford up top.

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
I'd ideally see;
But I do think Trippier, Young and Dele will replace TAA, Rose and one of Sterling/Rashford.
Pickford
Walker - Stones - Cahill
TAA --------- Dier --------- Rose
Sterling ------- Lingard
Rashford - Kane

Sterling ------- Lingard

Although I'd drop both Dier and Henderson for Delph in that holding role, it's not likely.

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
Dier is useful as he can cover at CB.
it's just another England squad with a lot of much muchness..could he not just go 4-2-3-1
...................Pickford.........
Walker.....Cahill....Stones...Rose
.............Dier......Henderson......
Sterling..........Dele..........Rashford
....................Kane................

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
Southgate has already come out and say this is the system they will use, and there is no plan B formation as they believe it is flexible enough to adapt to different situations.
He has also said that it is either Henderson or Dier in the team, not both.
Personally I think it needs to be either Rashford or Sterling. I wouldn't have Sterling and Lingard effectively in a 3 with Dier. We'd be too exposed in the middle of the park.

Re: Challenge League Homepage VI
I really don't know then Afro, is Walker really good enough defensively up against top quality opponents?
Think England's level are solid quarter finals, whether that's seen as enough who knows but for me that's the reality. I'd expect France/Germany/Spain/Brazil to beat them

Ultimately we'll lose to the big boys whatever formation we play.
So may as well play a system that gets the best out of our best players (which we have done) and see how far we get.

For me it has to be
Pickford
TAA
Walker
Stones
Maguire
Rose
Dier
Alli
Rashford
Sterling
Kane
Rashford and Sterling wide of Kane. As much as I like Messi Lingard I think him and Alli step on each other’s toes too much if they play together

Dele and Kane link well for Spurs, so for that reason they should be kept together. But you have Walker/Rose/Dier/Alli/Kane almost half that side have bottlejob DNA. I know walker is now at Citeh but still
