Glasgow Warriors vs Scarlets
First topic message reminder :
No thread yet so here it is.
Where? Scotstoun Stadium, Glasgow
When? Friday 7:45 kick-off
How? In person, Sky Sports Action, BBC2 Wales or BBC Alba
Why? Because it’s a semi final of Europe’s dominant league

Re: Glasgow Warriors vs Scarlets
Not much to argue there, we just didn’t look like the team we’ve been in season’s past. Perhaps a blessing in disguise as even if we had pipped Scarlets last night I dread to think what would have happened to us in the final, possibly against a team like Leinster.
All that being said, I’m optimistic about next year. DR’s comments post match talked about sorting the defence rather than bringing in new players which is good to hear. There’s a time and place for new signing talk and it isn’t straight after a disappointing loss.

Re: Glasgow Warriors vs Scarlets
Good performance by Scarlets. They knew what worked from the last game and executed well. They beat up the scrum, waited for the counter-attack and got Russell chipping/grubbering straight to the cover behind the rush defensive line.
Rennie has come in with a big reputation and as the year has gone on, failed to live up to it. Playing one way is fine when you are more talented than any other side. Glasgow don't have the budget. There has to be a level of pragmatism and game intelligence (e.g. don't call for a scrum in your own 22 when the same scrum hammered your own scrum only a month ago). Grigg should have been taken off well before his yellow card. Russell, Wilson and Swinson were not good enough.
S Johnson, M Fagerson and J Gray all appeared to be positive in a poor performance to give credit where it is due.

Fagerson (Matt) did hee haw all game. The entire Glasgow backrow were AWOL for the whole affair.
Only Jonny Gray and Wee Horne came out of that playoff with any resemblance of a decent performance (Jonny's sneaky try attempt should have been awarded imo and Wee Horne saved at least two tries)
