Derek Beaumont Statement
https://leighrl.co.uk/wp/blog/2018/08/12/a-statement-from-club-owner-derek-beaumont/
Interesting thoughts from outgoing chairman Derek Beaumont. IMO he has in the past been fairly bullish in his press releases (but entertaining) so I do find it difficult to be totally sympathetic on the basis that there is a element of blaming everyone but his own decisions. He is an apparently very successful in his business so surely it can't be a surprise that some players are expecting their contracts to be paid? At the end of the day you have to look after yourself and family no-one else is going to do it for you.
I did find however his comments on needing Championship players for the Championship spot on and I think he has found as Bradford did that insisting on being full time is actually a negative for the team on the pitch there are a number of high quality part-time players available.
Sad times, on the whole Derek's will be missed. As a Bulls fan I do feel for the players and staff who will be leaving and wish them well, the loyal fans too, horrible watching the club you've invested time, money into and made part of your life crumbling away.
