I 100% agree with Azzy - one league would be best

Azzy wrote:I don't like the idea of forcing some teams into the lower division right off the bat. We set this up to be one big league, let's not go changing important details like that now we've all decided our teams. Everyone should have the opportunity to win the league, not just 8 teams.
And if you did do two leagues (please don't), then 4 up, 4 down is far too big. Half the league changing every season is absurd. 2 up, 2 down. But please don't do this anyway. I want to go up against every manager, not just the same old seven.
I think the idea would be that the first season both leagues are treated equal (like X and Y) with the top four of each league moving into the Premier League, and the bottom four in the Championship effectively. Short seasons of 7 games with squad reset at the end of each season.
But my preference would be a 16 team league, just add some cut off points to give managers something to fight for.

Being someone who watches a 12 team league and thinks that’s small I’m against making the league any smaller

I'd prefer to stick with a 16 team league

It was only a suggestion in response to the "keeping the interest" post.
I'm happy enough with the 16 team league too

Re: FIFA Challenge League Homepage I
Is there a way that we can add some sort of interest for different positions in that case?
I just think it's best to avoid a scenario where people don't care halfway through the season because they can't win the league, switching their focus to the subsequent season

Do it like actual League 2, but without the consequences.
So, top 3 get promoted, 4th to 7th get playoffs, bottom 2 get relegated, with prize money impacted and a bit of pride gained for the manager.
To steal an idea from JA, the two relegated sides have to change to new teams (albeit keeping their new signings.)
For example if I got Crawley relegated, I'd have a new side for Season 2 (lets say Notts County for arguments sake), I'd lose all the real life Crawley players from my squad and replace them with Notts County players while keeping my actual signings.

You wouldn't actually be promoted obviously, it just gives you something to aim for.

Re: FIFA Challenge League Homepage I
You might not be the best representative as you are likely to have a lot of Crawley players left. I think I am likely to have moved most of mine on.
But Trebs is right. Prize money seems the obvious one.

Take a different league two squad if relegated, blank canvas but a big transfer budget to rebuild perhaps? Say £4m or something, depending on how good the squads end up getting.

Or maybe you lose half your squad, then given funds to replenish, some kind of punishment for going down

Not many Real Madrid players Nadz can get with 2m.

That was my first thought tbh but then I considered the work Hero would have to do, thought it best to stick to League Two

True.
From my perspective, having a notional CL spot, Europa league spot or avoiding relegation probably isn’t going to motivate me any more.
Something that will help me in the following season would

Re: FIFA Challenge League Homepage I
Quick question.
I've bid for an LW but does he count as a midfielder or as a striker? If we are going by fifa than he is classed as an attacker/forward so I take it my bid should be ok as I have already bid for a midfielder?

Re: FIFA Challenge League Homepage I
I’ve still got 22 hours, yeah?
I could probably use a representative to guide me about what I’m doing, maybe some friendly feedback when I send over?
Although I’m also tempted to just buy young Norwich players

With this draft, if I overbid and no one else bids, I still pay my bid price, not their value?

No worries. Ask as many question as you need. A lot of us have been doing it for a while, so we just assume it's clear, whereas it probably isn't most of the time

How often do I get to sign people? There's a few I don't think I need to rush on, but in terms of positions I will need the players eventually

Re: FIFA Challenge League Homepage I
Just a reminder before the draft is finalised.
All transfers need to be confirmed on the Transfer Confirmation page. This is to make it straight forward for Hero to update teams in FIFA.
With foreigns, including the draft, please ensure you include the team they were bought from (as they are on FIFA) so it is easy to find them. Whereas in the old league Hero had a good idea where a lot of players were from, in this league it isn't going to be as straight forward.
For releases and sales through lawyers, please put the team they are going to as their real life team
For domestics, ensure you include both teams (only one side needs to confirm)
