Nice to see the silence observed, unlike other occasions there.

These ball available calls seem a little iffy.

Only the Wallabies can take their game to a new lower level.
Honestly... a coconut on a drone could do a better job and give away less ball and less penalties than this mob of Poopie.

Wallabies look so dangerous attacking from deep and almost clueless when within a few metres of the Welsh line

Defences dominant, but what on earth is going on with Halfpenny?!

I think I can only remember Halfpenny have the yips once and I’m sure it was at Murrayfield a few years back. Missed his first few, but even they weren’t as bad as that. That’s pretty unforgivable, particularly when (in theory) that’s all you’re really there for.

By the way, warburton is a great pundit. His neutrality stands out as well as his analysis work.

Absolute madness to not take the easy three points in a game as tight as this one.

What was that last penalty for?
Madness from Australia earlier not kicking for goal in such a tight game - Welsh defence was going to be incredibly difficult to break down and it was an easy 3 points.
Certainly not a classic!

I guess it was a good job Biggar came on when he did to kick that penalty.

I’d have said it was for taking JD2 past the ball, but I don’t know.

Yes, I think so too. Davies was taken out off the ball when he wasn't interfering in play.

Didn't see the game as I was watching the Ireland match. I take it was a tight affair. Did wales deserve to win?

No complaints about a Wales win but it was pretty poor stuff so a draw probably would have been a fair result!

Re: Wales v Australia Saturday 10th November 2018 New TMO laws to be trialled.
Well it didn’t take long for the usual guppy’s to be on here acting bitter over Wales’ win. As for the win, yes we won, just like we did last week. History says so. Not a good game for a supporter as the erratic play was enough to give a panic attack or two. Halfpenny’s missed kicks were shocking... what’s not surprising is nobody mentioned the shoulder charge to his face - ref should’ve looked at it at least. Looks like we have another Steve Walsh, and not sure why he allowed Hooper to swim around the side of the maul either when it should have been a penalty to us and YC for him. Davies was particularly poor at controlling the game, too often waiting for an offload that was never on and standing at the ruck, which is why we often had slow ball.
A lot to work on but good to get the win in these situations. My first time watching Aus for a while and i have to admit they weren’t very good. Skills seems to be lacking.

Charge on halfpenny was nothing.. he was committed. Although have to totally disagree with those saying this was a poor gAme, it was frantic end to end throughout. Ok no try’s, but an exciting game which could have gone either way... if that was next years wirkd cup, I’d take that win.
Halfpenny had a couple of shockers though..

He wasn’t even competing. It was similar to Hogg’s infamous charge on Biggar. Doubt he’ll be cited as play like that tends to be waved on when it’s against Wales.

Lydiate was pretty solid again. Tipuric was ordinary last week but very good today and received a deserved MOTM. A great feat to be the best 7 on the field with Pocock and Hooper also playing.

I thought he should have been pinged for that too - Iooked like he jumped into 1/2P leading with the shoulder so it's reckless at minimum. Similar to the Munster charge down of the conversion against Exeter, which also got waved away as accidental. I thought it was all about outcome not intent these days?
Still good for Wales to get the win in the end and get the Aussie monkey off their back.

I’ve been at least once where South Africans didn’t observe it and there have been other silences (maybe not for Remembrance) that have had people shouting come on Wales during them.

As Sam Warburton said, if you’re charging down somebody, you’d dive at their feet. If it’s not a penalty, then he has no right to penalise Lydiate for no arms as he did. It’s at least a penalty to Wales.

Wales have relied on Halfpenny for along time now to kick the goals. yesterday he missed a couple relative easy ones. for him any way. If he had not gone off when he did, would Hascome been given the kicking duties instead.
Or would Wales have stook with Halfpenny?

That is not 100% true. Most charge downs in games I watch, the player spreads themselves very wide. (See Lawes yesterday). You have to be very close to aim at the feet.RiscaGame wrote:As Sam Warburton said, if you’re charging down somebody, you’d dive at their feet.

Well maybe, but regardless you don’t do what happened yesterday. Penalty Wales, all day long. As it turned out we lost three points from it, instead of gaining better field position.
