I wanted to play 2 spinners as in my side I would have Pollard as 3rd seamer. Hard to chose Malinga over Steyn and Gul. Tough call though.

I think people have taken Shahid Afridi's retirement seriously. We all know its a bit of a joke don't we? And if he's available, he should defenetly be there. So considering his retirement for what means, I'll have him in my XI.

Tillakaratne Dilshan
Chris Gayle
Brendon McCullum(WK)
Kevin Pietersen
Yuvraj Singh
Eoin Morgan
Shahid Afridi
Graeme Swann
Dale Steyn
Lasit Malinga
Umar Gul

good fire power with bat and ball. 5 bowlers, with support from Gayle, Dilshan and Yuvraj. Bats down to 8.

MSD's T-20 record is not as good as that of Mccullum. Alby Morkel doesn't even find a place in the SA T-20 side. His bowling is ordinary, and his batting form at the international level dipped so much that he found himself out of the SA setup. Angelo Mathews, Dwayne Bravo, or even Jesse Ryder up the order can be a much better selection.

Makes you wonder how England won the world T20 without any good players, but Im struggling to think of one other than Swann who would get in for sure.

Dilshan (slow bowl option)
Sehwag
Watson (4th seamer)
Tendulkar (or are we considering him retired?)
ABD
Yuvi (spin option)
Dhoni (Cpt WK)
Broad/Bresanan? I want english guys in here there must be a way....
Swann
Steyn
Malinga

Maybe short a proper spinner, I guess afridi coulkd come in as a poer hitter as well, but theres lots of part time slow bowl options amongst the genuinly top class batsmen. Ive increasingly come over to teh understanding taht proper bowlers and proper batsmen are better if you have real class acts available than bits and pieces nothings. Certainly Pollard and Mathews are overated IMO.

Yeah he cant get in because they keep picking all rounders who let them down. Maybe Im thinking of the last 50 over world cup but the same happened to England and Austrlia too.

Gayle
Dilshan
Pietersen
AB de Villiers (WK)
Eoin Morgan
Mike Hussey
Shakib
Pollard
Gul
Malinga
Tait

Bats all the way down to number 8 with "proper" batsmen and has a wide variety of hitters (Pollard, Gayle, KP) and then with people who score in more unorthodox places (Dilshan, Morgan) and also some guys who can finish off innings like Dhoni, Mogs and Hussey.

Admittedly I might be a bit short on the bowling front, but I have three genuine strike bowlers who will get me wickets in Gul, Malinga and Tait. Then I have Pollard whose bowling is very underrated IMO. Then with 3 spin options in Dilshan, Gayle and Shakib which gives me 7 bowling options, which is good depth.

Then, we have to remember that a good T20 side needs to be very mobile in the field and I have Pollard who is exceptional in the deep, and also I have Dilshan and Morgan who are superb in the field aswell and they will give me the edge over any side.

1) C.Gayle
2) B. McCullum (wk)
3) T. Dilshan
4) Y. Singh
5) AB de Villiers
6) M. Hussey
7) K. Pollard
8) D. Vettori (c)
9) U. Gul
10) L. Malinga
11) Z. Khan

Pretty much unstoppable.

Bowling Options:

Quicks - Zaheer, Malinga, Gul, Pollard
Spin - Vettori, Yuvraj, Dilshan, Gayle

Batting down to 9 and Malinga/Zaheer can still whack it a fair way if needed.
