So many players would have collapsed by now, but Higgins is still plugging away and potting well. Two frames on the bounce to get it back to 15-9. He will, of course, remember last year when he was 10-15 behind against Williams and got it back to 15-15.

massive frame coming up, if higgins wins it, he will feel he still has a chance at 15-10, if trump goes 16-9 up i feel it's game over

trump in first, needs to make the most of this, his opponent still believes, trump will want to go into tonights session maintaining his lead of 7 frames

So nearly the 147. Magic stuff. Great entertainment all round.
Almost unbelievably, Higgins has shared those eight frames with Trump, which is a great achievement considering the form the latter is in!

incredible effort, i fancied him to make the maximum once he got on the red to the middle, 16-9 up and it looks like trump has got this in the bag

Yet another century and 147 attempt.
Higgins deserves immense credit for managing to force an evening session and split those eight frames. Against anyone else, Trump would have had this sewn up a few frames ago, but Higgins has dug deep. Agree with Hendry - he shouldn't be hurt as badly at losing this final as he was losing to Selby in 2017 and Williams in 2018, because he's simply been outclassed here and done precious little wrong. Nobody could compete with what Trump has dished up across these three sessions.

Some are saying this is one of the highest quality finals. I am not much of a snooker aficionado to be able to judge quality - and I am not watching it - just reading the commentary and seeing a few highlights.

Like he hasn't been away - a break of 94 for Trump, and barring Higgins winning nine consecutive frames, we'll have a new winner engraved on the World Championship trophy.

And it's all over. Sensational performance and a richly-deserved winner.

Trump wins 18-9, no real signs of nerves as the winning line approached. Gets the world title monkey off his back.
Hands down and without doubt - that's the best performance I've ever seen. Trump was astonishingly good across all four sessions. Even if he never wins it again (which is doubtful), he's rubber-stamped his status as one of the greatest players the game has ever seen with that showing. Amazing.

Sheer magnificence.
Well done Judd Trump on becoming the World Champion at last and what a way to do it. He obliterated John Higgins 18-9 with a plethora of breathtaking pots, century breaks and that added vital facet to his game - safety play to match and better John Higgins.
I loved seeing him urging Higgins on his 147 attempt - great sportsmanship and he comes across as very humble. Higgins reciprocated and watch Judd's brilliant 147 attempt with a smile on his face.
Judd has finally come of age and it is now a case of how many world titles he can win. I am sure this won't be his last. He has proven now he has it all.
As for Higgins well this third final defeat in a row was no disgrace given how sensational Judd was but I do worry that it may hit him after the euphoria and adrenalin rush has gone. I hope not.
Well done again Judd.
