FF7 Remake
Anyone as excited as me about this? Release date confirmed and the trailers, especially the new one at E3, look immense.

Re: FF7 Remake
The demo was released yesterday - took me an hour to play through it.
Really enjoyed the fighting, it's definitely a FF15 inspired system but they've refined it and early impressions is that it's a big step up. Option to play in Classic mode for the purists too.
I'll be getting it at launch for sure. Only one month to go...

Me too, not played the demo yet. I saw thee classic mode but I think you will be missing out on a lot to go through that route.
Having not played FF15, it will take some getting used to.
Likely there will be 4 installments......Midgar only takes up about a quarter of the game. Not that I am complaining, been looking forward to it for months

I'm just hoping we get plenty of game for our money - it's obviously full price.
It'll be interesting to see how they link together the games - levelling up of characters, story decisions etc. and whether that progress will carry over.

Re: FF7 Remake
It must carry over I would have thought......or at least give you the option too.
Perhaps each game can be treated as its own entity. So if you got game 2 without getting game 1, you start from level 0. But if you did play the 1st game, then it is carried over and the whole game world has a higher difficulty level.
I dunno....just a thought.

Re: FF7 Remake
So today is the day.
Seems to be £50 everywhere - was hoping one or two retailers would blink and cut the price down.
Reviews look pretty good, I'm probably going to buy it from asda with my weekly shop.
Unfortunately it'll probably be tomorrow before I get to play it given the download size!

Re: FF7 Remake
Isn't is about 1/6 of the original game? For £50?

Re: FF7 Remake
Yes it is.
But I've played the first few chapters of it, and it certainly does expand on the original game. Sector 7 slums for instance has a load of side quests.
The world building is amazing and this game certainly builds on some of the good ideas in FFXV with battle and open world quests and such.
So far I'm happy anyway

I have heard good things, I just wonder how long it'll take them to actually give the public the whole game.

Re: FF7 Remake
The plate has just came down and I wasnt emotionally ready for it. Its a testament to the world and characters that they’ve created because even though I knew it was an inevitability I still feel like I failed.

Re: FF7 Remake
Agree samo. That scene was so hard to play through, and I got the Discovery scene with Aerith in chapter 14 (possible to get others) which completely broke me.
All in all, was really pleased with the experience of playing through. It took me 40 hours and now I'm replaying on hard mode - but the endgame content does look a bit weak on first glance compared to other games. Still happy though.
Only gripe about the story is... (Endgame spoilers)

- Spoiler:
- that Barrett 'dies' then is brought back. I thought that they had been super bold and done a completely left field move. But it was cheapened a bit undoing it five minutes later.
