Glasgow Warriors v Scarlets Sunday 11th October 2020
Glasgow Warriors v Scarlets
Scotstoun Stadium
Glasgow
Sun 11th October
KO 17.15
Live on Premier Sports
Well round 2 of this years comp brings two old rival together at Scotstoun, Glasgow's first home game of the season and Scarlets first road trip, though it remains to be seen what difference this makes in the slightly surreal atmosphere of no fans.
Both team took just a point from the first round, a game Glasgow could have won and one that Scarlets definitely should have and will have had a few sleepless nights about how it managed to get away.
I expect both teams to be a lot better this week having had a serious hit out to get rid of the cobwebs and both sides need a win to get their seasons off and on track.
I think we might see a Glasgow side something along these lines, I think he will want to continue to have a look at his squad.
1. Seuili - alternating with Keeble, will essentially get a half each
2. Turner - brown looked a bit beat up last week and could maybe do with a rest
3. Fagerson Z - hopefully out of isolation now
4. Gray - needs a start
5. Harley - thought he played well last week and will likely be considered a second row this season
6. Wilson
7. Gordon - again, hopefully out of isolation
8. Fagerson M - needs another good game to cement his Scotland squad place
9. Horne G - a bit of rotation again
10. Hastings
11. Nairn - fluffed his lines last week but needs another chance
12. Johnson - word is that he is fit
13. Grigg
14. Seymour
15. Jones H - keeping racking up the miles in the FB role
Subs:
Keeble
Delekoto
Pieretto
Cummings
Lokotui
Dobie - could do with a run out

Like that team BigGee, hope Zander is back - he makes a huge difference around the park, especially in the carrying department.

Tagive doing the midweek Glasgow press, so it looks like he will start over Nairn. Hopefully he will bench and get the chance to redeem himself for last weeks fumbles

Gee, well done on the thread. One slight niggle; when making a thread you seem to concentrate on the rugby side and leave out all the interesting stuff.
1. Seuili - alternating with Keeble, will essentially get a half each. I know Ollie is a big lump but I'm beginning to think Seulli gives more.
2. Turner - brown looked a bit beat up last week and could maybe do with a rest. Chuckles looked really hungry for action, if fit he'll start.
3. Fagerson Z - hopefully out of isolation now.Possibly starting on the bench: Toonie will want him to have some game time though.
4. Gray - needs a start Has he looked anything like his old self since he returned?
5. Harley - thought he played well last week and will likely be considered a second row this season.Apparently the printer in DW's office churns out team sheets with one spot already filled in....in BIG RED CRAYON.
6. Wilson. 100% tackle success last week. Needs a haircut though.
7. Gordon - again, hopefully out of isolation
8. Fagerson M - needs another good game to cement his Scotland squad place
9. Horne G - a bit of rotation again
10. Hastings
11. Nairn - fluffed his lines last week but needs another chanceYou know, I think ratu will start.
12. Johnson - word is that he is fit
13. Grigg
14. Seymour
15. Jones H - keeping racking up the miles in the FB role
Subs:
Keeble
Delekoto He is in the Fiji squad so perhaps Stewart will get the chance of gametime
Pieretto The Fugitive did well last week, 50/50
Cummings I think he may start with Ritchie on the bench
Lokotui
Dobie - could do with a run out

Re: Glasgow Warriors v Scarlets Sunday 11th October 2020
Fair few Welsh hopefuls in the Scarlets side. The starting front rows could legitimately be the bench for Wales and the centres the starters (ignoring Tompkins).
Hopefully our front five five can set a marker, particularly at scrum time. I would say we look underpowered in the back row, particularly if Fusaro has to come on for Wilson or Fagerson, but James Davies is not the biggest either. Benches on both sides offer quite a bit of impact.
Should hopefully be quite an open game, though Scarlets may be favourites. The only place I feel confident we have an advantage in the backs is at 10 and 14.

Should be a close game, although I think the Scarlet's win the head to head and can see them nicking this one.

Strong Scarlets side. There's a few penalties in Lousi but otherwise I think the Scarlets should win.

Very good Scarlets side - any Scarlets supporters able to update on how Johnny Williams has been playing? He's a quality centre!
Kind of wish Nairn had been given another chance to redeem his mistakes from last week but would also like to see Tagive properly cut loose at some point
Happy that Stafford is continuing at 12, if he gets some form he could feature for Scotland soon and that would make a total of 2 Stewarty RFU Colts alumni having played for Scotland in the pro era

Re: Glasgow Warriors v Scarlets Sunday 11th October 2020
Bleddyn Williams has been solid if unspectacular and exactly what Wales had needed, a 12 who can carry in to contact while also looking like he can run and pass and choose the right option. He played well against Toulon while also being turned over about 5 times due to getting isolated from his defenders - almost took good a carrier. He likes taking the outside shoulder which seems to be his go to, interesting to see how he does for Wales and if he can make the likely step up.

Only 4 of those unavailable are significant, the obvious 4 (the ones you've heard of). Interested to see these centre's play together.

I thought the Grigg tackle was unlucky, a seatbelt tackle when the winger was already going down, a penalty would have been fine there.
Otherwise no issues with the other cards.

Yep Clancy is another clown, the scrum and breakdowns with him is anyone's guess. The bog standard refereeing in this league never ends.
Not taking anything away from Glasgow though, who were pretty good .

Interesting that Kebbles try came when we were conservative and controlled in their 22 while the squeaky bum time came as a result of us being conservative and controlled in their 22 and kicking the penalty rather than gambling on the line out.

Thete is definitely a new Glasgow in the wind, with Wilson's fingerprints all over it.
I like what i have seen so far.
Trouble is, we will be playing 13 short for the next while, so a chance for the kids to put down a marker and see what the coaches are really about

Wilson was always good when it came to forwards coaching. He probably knew how to out-manoeuvre Samson Lee seeing as he was his U20s coach.

I said Sam Lousi was good for a few penalties but dear me between him and Tex the Scarlets have signed a pair of absolute red card magnets.
