Glasgow Warriors v Scarlets Sunday 11th October 2020
First topic message reminder :
Glasgow Warriors v Scarlets
Scotstoun Stadium
Glasgow
Sun 11th October
KO 17.15
Live on Premier Sports
Well round 2 of this years comp brings two old rival together at Scotstoun, Glasgow's first home game of the season and Scarlets first road trip, though it remains to be seen what difference this makes in the slightly surreal atmosphere of no fans.
Both team took just a point from the first round, a game Glasgow could have won and one that Scarlets definitely should have and will have had a few sleepless nights about how it managed to get away.
I expect both teams to be a lot better this week having had a serious hit out to get rid of the cobwebs and both sides need a win to get their seasons off and on track.
I think we might see a Glasgow side something along these lines, I think he will want to continue to have a look at his squad.
1. Seuili - alternating with Keeble, will essentially get a half each
2. Turner - brown looked a bit beat up last week and could maybe do with a rest
3. Fagerson Z - hopefully out of isolation now
4. Gray - needs a start
5. Harley - thought he played well last week and will likely be considered a second row this season
6. Wilson
7. Gordon - again, hopefully out of isolation
8. Fagerson M - needs another good game to cement his Scotland squad place
9. Horne G - a bit of rotation again
10. Hastings
11. Nairn - fluffed his lines last week but needs another chance
12. Johnson - word is that he is fit
13. Grigg
14. Seymour
15. Jones H - keeping racking up the miles in the FB role
Subs:
Keeble
Delekoto
Pieretto
Cummings
Lokotui
Dobie - could do with a run out

Good game Glasgow. Great result.
Red card = 30+ minutes off the field.
2 yellow cards = 20 minutes off the field.

"Red card = 30+ minutes off the field.

Glasgow were down to 13 for 9 minutes, and were winning quite comfortably for the first 50.
You were right about Louisi though.

Was a weird game, all Glasgow until the final quarter and then they totally lost the head - momentum was with the Scarlets for the last 20 and I could easily see them going on to win that game if they had taken one of their chances.
You can see the new mindset Wilson is trying to impart on Glasgow, I like how we are playing less in our own half and getting a bit more control from our halfbacks - still a huge work in progress to mesh this new style to our more progressive play, but promising early signs.
Who knows what happens over the next international period, going to be a weird time with what is likely to be an extended Scotland squad decimating both pro teams.

Good to go into the international window with a win under our belts though and having played some decent rugby at times.
On paper that was a decent Scarlets side out there, albeit they have not quite clicked yet this season.
The international window is going to be disruptive for a lot of teams and i am looking forward to seeing some of our youngsters get there chance to show their wares.

Yes, but I'm righting the wrong that was the assumption that the Scarlets had the 'better' of the card situation. Clearly they didn't but we all know that.

Mcsweens (any relation to the Haggis people??) - apologies that your first post did not receive a welcome!
So welcome to the forum and it would be good to hear more from you - the madness of an Edinburgh/Glasgow ongoing banter thread is a good place to start. Come say hello1
