Irish Provinces Non Irish players
First topic message reminder :
Interested in who the various Irish provinces will have on their books next year who are NIQ or only qualify through residency
I'll start with Ulster
NIQ - Nakarawa, Carter
Residency - None
Assumes Faddes, Ludik and Matthewson are all away - a fairly safe bet I'd say
What is the situation elsewhere?

I think I can do Leinster
NIQ - Michael Alaalatoa
Residence Qualified - Gibson-Park, Lowe, Abdaladze
Currently Qualified via Residence - anybody?
G/Parents - none?
What is the status of Jenkins is he definitely playing for Leinster next year?

As far as I can see the players at the three provinces next year are
Ulster
NIQ - Carter, Vermuelen, Toomaga-Allen
Residency - none
Currently Residency qualifying - none

Residency - Salanoa, Knox
Currently residency qualifying - Frisch
Leinster
NIQ - Jenkins, Nagati, Ala'alatoa
Residency - Gibson-Park, Lowe, Abdaladze
Currently residency qualifying - none
Any errors ?
Anyone know the Connacht situation

ERRORS
Frisch is GPIQ at Munster, according to Munster.
Abdaladze is residency qualified since a child, not as an adult-moved rugby player. Leinster confirmed he is an Irish citizen.
Ngatai is not confirmed as a move to Leinster - only French media rumour.
Connacht have another NIQ player for next season in Shamus Hurley Langton not parent IQ; and Bryan Ralston who is GPIQ. Porch is NIQ and Butler is residency qualified but still NIQ on their books. Leva Fifita is NIQ - capped for Tonga. And Aki is residency qualified as an adult rugby player who moved to Ireland.

Re: Irish Provinces Non Irish players
Forgot about Frisch Grandparent
Abdaladze if true, is interesting given his declaring his intention to return to Georgia after his playing days are over.
Irish citizenship is still not how he qualifies though - it is through residency but we've done that to death
Could you post the link re his citizenship as I cant find anything including the Leinster website
Some, non French, sites have Ngatai as a done deal - they could be wrong of course
Cant keep up with Connacht comings and goings to be honest

Wikipedia has a good summary of all the teams:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connacht_Rugby#Current_squad
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_2022–23_United_Rugby_Championship_transfers#Connacht
Edit: Ngatai apparently signed a pre-contract in March but nothing more as yet so it could still happen. Might be another Leinster exit as well. Abdaladze info confirmed verbally - it's why he's registered with IRFU union and not Georgian union.
