SURREY VS HAMPSHIRE LV COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP
SURREY HAVE NAMED A SQUAD OF FIFTEEN FOR THE RETURN TO RED BALL CRICKET AGAINST HAMPSHIRE AT THE AGES BOWL STARTING ON SUNDAY.
Kyle Jamieson will play his first County Championship match for the Club, having joined during the Vitality Blast fixtures.
There is no place in the squad for Gus Atkinson or Matthew Dunn.
FULL SQUAD:
Burns (C)
Amla
Clark
Clarke
Geddes
Jacks
Jamieson
McKerr
Moriarty
Overton
Patel
Pope
Smith
Stoneman
Virdi
Geddes, McKerr and patel will definitely miss out, so the last spot will probably be between Moriarty and Overton?
Hard to call when you cant see the pitch from your living room jimbohammers around?
Over to you chaps

Overton plays ahead of Moriarty, Pope out too with Patel playing. Hope Pope isn't too badly injured!

Going for a scan on his thigh doesn’t sound too promising for Pope

Make that nearly 300 and over 100 for the last! Awful by Surrey. Jamieson must be injured.

A draw the most we can get out of this now, and need 339 just to avoid the follow on

Re: SURREY VS HAMPSHIRE LV COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP
Make that 14/2 now as Ronnie says an early good night to Burns.
Probably easier batting conditions this morning with the sun out and little to no cloud cover but still not nearly good enough.

Yep, and we really needed a win to finish in the top 2 of our group to help our chances of qualifying for the meaningful final round of Championship matches.
Not impossible to still qualify with a draw here but that makes it a lot more tricky and dependent upon others. A defeat would almost certainly mean we end up with the other ''also rans'' in the wooden spoon games.

Re: SURREY VS HAMPSHIRE LV COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP
It'll be interesting to see how Patel gets on in this final session.
Unlike JimBob and, I think, James, I didn't regard it as a done deal that Patel would have been on the bench had Pope not picked up an injury.
In his only first team appearance and innings this season, Patel scored 62 in our last CC match against Gloucs. That played a very useful part in our win by an innings. That didn't guarantee him a place in the team for this match but he certainly belonged in the mix.

Luckily the rain came or it could've been goodnight from us! We were a bowler short which to a very minor degree can excuse that pathetic display, but nothing can excuse that feeble batting attempt, almost certain to follow on from here, our only hope is the weather intervenes to save us, which we certainly don't deserve...we won the toss as well

Re: SURREY VS HAMPSHIRE LV COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP
WILL JACKS HAS BEEN CALLED UP TO THE NEW LOOK ENGLAND SQUAD FOR THE UPCOMING WHITE BALL SERIES WITH PAKISTAN.
Jacks will have to immediately withdraw from Surrey’s ongoing game with Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl and will be replaced in that match by Ben Geddes.
It also means he will now be unavailable for this Friday’s Vitality Blast game with Kent at The Kia Oval.

After his highest ever score yesterday Wagon Wheal is now in the wickets, 66-7, so 13 wickets needed in about 110 overs.....make that 12 as Overton goes now, good job we've got a long tail...66-8

That's Surrey lowest total in the Championship since the final game of the 2018 season against Essex when we was 67 all out.

That's not fair comment, it's insanely kind. Mercifully I was out all day yesterday and missed the horror as it unfolded.

Come to think of it, our best chance is if Ronnie, Wagon and Diane all injure themselves in a scrap to bowl at him.

A few minutes ago on comms -
The ever hopeful Church: ''Surrey have a mountain to climb today and have now left base camp.''
The ever streetwise Kevan James: ''Yes but they haven't got very far.''

Re: SURREY VS HAMPSHIRE LV COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP
Virdi gone to Ronnie who has the impressive return of 7-6-1-2.
10/3 off 17 overs. Sure, runs no longer really matter to the outcome of this match but I think we would have a (slightly) better chance of surviving the day if we could turn the scoreboard over once in a while. Extras with 4 leg byes currently the top scorer in this dig.
