Re: Champs Cup - Round 3
I'm also baffled how it can be a PT and YC when your own player falls over his own feet and no opposition player has gone in the side or pulled it down ... or how you can flop over the ball to stop a turnover yards from your own line and not get pinged ...

The defender came in from the side straight on the ball carrier. Not surprised it was a pen try.

Not in the replay I saw - need to relook at it.

Re: Champs Cup - Round 3
Now Irish denied a try - first the ball was stripped when the ball carrier's knee was on the ground, then the ball was touched down by Irish when Stormers took the ball back over the line ... incompetent buffoons

Re: Champs Cup - Round 3
Well Irish have a lot to sort out themselves but the officiating during that match was a shambles from start to finish ...

Irish 6 comes around and binds on the Stormers 6 who is the frontmost player, the ball carrier (hooker I think) falls over all of his own accord short of the line ....

Re: Champs Cup - Round 3
Never gets behind the so in from the side. But I guess that's why you will always have inconsistency as even with replays you'll see different things. Meanwhile it's almost basketball in the racing match.

Re: Champs Cup - Round 3
At the point he re-engages with the ruck his feet and his body are between the Stomers 6' feet and body and the line, so I'm not sure how that's in the side, so we'll have to agree to disagree - plus the ball carrier is already falling over at that point due to pressure of his own players from behind ...

Re: Champs Cup - Round 3
Anyway moving on from the PT - what did you think about the officials failing to award the try when Stormers got caught napping with the ball over the line?

Not seen it as was finalising my fish pie. Heard Warburton I think moaning about it.

Re: Champs Cup - Round 3
Meanwhile TMO overturns a try for Quins when the ref says on-field try - meaning she has to be sure it wasn't grounded, which I don't think she could be from what we saw on screen ...

Then Racing score with a potential forward pass not looked at ...

Re: Champs Cup - Round 3
Russell clearly knocked that on deliberately - but Brace says it's completely different to the pen against Quins .... there we go with the lack of consistency again.

Well he's looked a little rusty at times but that is class from Smith.

Re: Champs Cup - Round 3
Meanwhile Racing get away with tackling a player 3m on the wrong side of the ruck, then to add insult to injury Quins then get pinged - where do they find these officials?

Morris has really turned this game single handedly.

Then great defence from Harelquins. If they can somehow make it through this period they'll be delighted.

Re: Champs Cup - Round 3
It's about time they stopped the French from directing the footage - Dombrant looked like he took a shot to the head that was never replayed ... meanwhile he gets a YC after being taken out. TMO asleep at the wheel ...

That was the very definition of hands on the floor, how didn't Brace see it?

They were marching over there, not even considering the penalty try?

Re: Champs Cup - Round 3
Complete turnaround. Surely now you'd think Harlequins have to win but their lineout keeps going awry
