Ranking the BEST rugby tries of all time!
Hi everyone!
I hope you're doing well!
There have been some class tries this season in all competitions, so it got me thinking, what are some of the best rugby tries of all time?
So I made this video where I ranked some of the best rugby tries of all time! Please feel free to give it a watch and hopefully, it will give you a laugh, but I understand it won't be everyone's cup of tea!
I would be interested to know what you think the best rugby try is of all time?
For me it's TJ Perenara try in 2019 against Namibia!
Would love to discuss this below

Re: Ranking the BEST rugby tries of all time!
Oooooo there are some tasty ones on that video. Lomu carrying the population of France over the try line would be one of my favourites ever just for the shear power on display. Jonah was a rugby cheat code let's face it.
My personal favourite though is Christian Cullen v Scotland in 1996 when he has more steps than a ladder and beats more Scottish defenders than Ireland do in the 6 nations. One of the most audacious moments in rugby although he was my childhood hero even though I'm Irish. My son is even called Christian for goodness sake.
Anyway, for me it's the best individual try.
Best team try could be any of a few. Baa Baas, Lions v NZ and France's all on show in that video but as an Irlshman filled with Irish bias I'll pop another on the list, Ireland v Italy 2016. All of them have everything and I simply can't choose between them........alright then I will, it's the Lions v NZ for team try.

Was that the one at the end of the game when he ended up escorted over the goal line by most of his team?Geordie wrote:Rupeni Caucau scored some blinders!

I still think Carlos Spencer was in the middle of the best try not scored: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=231469678539765

I see no one can wrap their heads around the concept of best tries ever. To make it easier I will go through the extensive library of my best tries ever, enter into rights negotiations with ESPN and Sky Sports to be able to air them. I know ESPN in particular are reluctant to let them be seen. Such must be the value they put on my tries to never let them be seen again.....

Re: Ranking the BEST rugby tries of all time!
Personally, I like the tries that come out of nowhere as much as the length of the field stuff.
Two favourites from the time I’ve been watching Quins are:
Chris Robshaw’s in the 2012 Prem final where he’s trotting along the tryline looking for all the world like he’s just getting back into the line until Danny Care passes him the ball from the base of the ruck and he ducks over the line to score before the Leicester defence knows what’s happening. One of the most outrageous trick plays ever sold to an opponent.
But I think my favourite is the one by Joe Marchant against Saracens in 2019. Marcus Smith pushes a penalty attempt wide and Marchant jumps for it, catches and scores before anyone has realised what’s happening. Simple once you’ve seen it done, but the rugby intelligence to see that it’s on in the first place and react quickly enough is enormous.
