French U20 calling a free kick from the kick-off
There's a lot of online discourse about this passage of play during the France vs Wales U20 match yesterday.

A French player caught a Welsh kick-off just inside his own 22, then called the mark. That's something you weren't able to do before the recent law changes. The French then took a tap, with a pod of players standing stationary for contact. This meant they stayed in the 22. When the Welsh engaged, the French laid the ball back for the scrum half, who then kicked it to touch.
It was obviously something planned but didn't seem to confer any particular advantage, particularly as the clearance didn't go far. One reply in the tweets put forward this explanation:

They were playing into a very strong headwind and their kicker found it difficult to kick from the hand. The player that calls the mark has to play the free-kick, so it wasn’t a bad option to get the ball to the scrum-half who was their nominated kicker

I couldnt figure it out when I saw it but the explanation makes sense now. When you take a mark you can tap it and pass to someone else though cant you and let them kick to touch?
