SURREY VS ESSEX AWAY LV= COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION ONE 2024

For the final time this season
Champions Surrey    have named a 13 man squad for the LV=Insurance County Championship game against Essex starting on 26th September at Chelmsford.
Josh Blake, Yousef Majid, and James Taylor come into the squad for the final match of the season.
Ollie Sykes is named in a red ball squad for the first time in his career.
Ben Foakes, Dan Worrall and Jordan Clark all miss out after having been carefully managed through the final block of the Championship season.
Whilst both currans are also rested after a long summer
There is no place in the squad for Jamie Overton.
Rory Burns will lift the County Championship trophy for the third year in a row at the end of the game.

Would like to see Sykes given a game but he will probably be on drink duties with Majid.

Hard to see Sykes making the eleven with the other batters in the squad. However, Majid might just be given a go on a track which has probably been prepared to most suit spin (us being poor batting against it and Essex having Harmer and Critchley to bowl it). If Majid plays, maybe Taylor also on drinks duty.
