England A vs Australia A 17th November
Just tuned in with three minutes gone. Not a big crowd, and Dallaglio in commentary, so I hope the quality of the rugby can compensate.

Wonder what the odds were on Joe Heyes scoring the first try of the day?

Decent start from England.
Bit disappointed by the crowd, feels like an opportunity missed to take the game away from the rugby heartlands to places that wouldn't normally see international rugby.

Altkinson not started well, missed an early conversion and then missed touch.

Well, it took less than 20 minutes for Pollock to get into it with someone.

Hmm couldn't see it on Rugby Pass? Only showing Sevens for later today live?

England pretty inaccurate, but feels like if they 'click' there could be tries for them.
Given how dynamic the forwards are, it has been somewhat surprising/disappointing that they haven't been able to make more hard yards.
Think Atkinson has been a bit of a weak link at fly half, has looked hurried and inaccurate.

Maybe it is geographically restricted? I didn't think it is supposed to be. That's how I'm watching it. Hopefully you can get on Premier Sports? Or, if you have a VPN set to America and use RugbyPass. It's no cost.mountain man wrote:doctor_grey wrote:Also RugbyPassRugby Fan wrote:mountain man wrote:Is it on TV? If so what channel please.

I have no idea why Atkinson is in there and Orlando Bailey isn't.

Australia winning the back row battle so far, and England look a bit underpowered in the forwards when carrying.
Atkinson hasn’t kicked his goals and looks a bit flat in attack, but the rest of the backline is keeping England in it.
Porter has shown the kind of form I was hoping for and has looked better than his counterparts in the senior squad so far.

Brilliant try from England in broken play.
If Atkinson had kicked his goals there would be daylight between them now.

England go ahead with a bit of a slapstick try following an Ibitoye break. It has woken up the crowd.

Tom Pearson off for Fisilau after 60 minutes.
Pearson had a lot of fans a while ago but he seemed to go quiet. Didn't really notive him much today.

“Slapstick”?
Not sure what you mean. It was a bit scrappy but England did well to resource the breakdown and it was smart play by Porter to keep the ball alive until he had someone to pass to.
Scrum replacements having an immediate impact. Pollock being a bit greedy but Fisilau’s reactions make a 4th try and England are looking much more comfortable.

Hopefully that kills off Australia A.
You have to say that Pollock looks like he is going to be an absolute star. He plays like both a back and a forward. So much speed and power for a man of his size.

Fisilau has scored within seconds. It might have been his first touch. Atkinson converted

Pfft, good read from Muir, but it couldn't have fallen any better for him.

He read it from a long way out, though. It’s a big call to commit that early, but he made it stick.

That's not meant to be pejorative. It's more the way Ibitoye looked like he had an easy link-up for a try, then we almost knocked-on, had a player perform a pirouette, and ended up scoring further out.
And now Will Muir has scored an intercept try from one of the longest run-ups you are likely to see.

Can England seriously not control the restart at any level? It is ridiculous.

Porter’s work today is done. Strong contender for POTM, I’d say.

The kid is box office. Needs to have his game time carefully managed as he's only 19 but a real x factor player. Tough call coming for next summer as to whether he goes on the summer tour to make his England debut or whether he goes with the under 20s to see if he can help them do the double.

Re: England A vs Australia A 17th November
Pollock and Porter were good. Arthur Clarke looked decent in the second row. Props were competitive without being completely dominant.
Line-out was really disappointing in the first half, so Oghre probably didn't enhance his position in the pecking order.
There were decent touches from the centres, without being jaw dropping (although Beard threw an offload that would have had the commentator orgasming if he was a Aussie Loig player).
I'd have liked to see how the backline would have gone if Fin Smith had been at 10.
