Fiji RWC 50 man training squad named
Fiji's 50-man training squad for the 2011 Pacific Nations Cup and 2011 Rugby World Cup. Jone Qovu, Isa Nacewa, Vilimoni Delasau, Rupeni Caucaunibuca, Josh Matavesi and Sireli Bobo all withdrew due to personal or club reasons.
They look pretty strong, especially in the backs - so much choice for wingers and centres. With a number of players plaiying abroad i'm sure they will be competitive. However I'm disappointed with the withdrawals, as all of those players would have been first choice.
What do you think? Scared Wales?

MSR - I'm moving this to the correct section of the board just so you know.
And I'm always scared of Fiji.

Hmmm that team is definately scary even with the palyers who have withdrawn. From a wales point of view I should be glad the payers have pulled out, but I have to say I am disapointed. It would be great to see some of those guys at the wc.
I didn't realise Nicky Little is still playing, he has been around for a few years now.

They should be doing everything they can to get Yanuyanutawa into the set up as they need all the half decent props they can find.
Lock and backrow are no problem at all with a bit of depth in both strangely enough.
In the half backs, they are struggling a bit though.

"It seems Nalaga is in his hometown of Sigatoka, stuck there not because he is depressed over his fiancee's car crash, but because he has fallen out with his mother over who he ought to be heading down the aisle with!
'Napo" was wanting to marry a local girl who he had met two years previously, and with whom he has a 10 month old son, Napolioni Junior, with a view to returning together to France. His family and particularly his mother, had other ideas, having arranged a marriage to the daughter of a well-to-do family from Suva, a thing commonly done in Fiji, where many villages are still controlled by a 'senior' or chief, who oversees daily life.
The 'accident story' was fabricated by the 'entourage' around Nalaga to buy time to sort the mess out - apparently his mother had the right to block his bank account, thus preventing him paying paternal contributions to his son and girlfriend.
The Fijian courts subsequently stopped him from leaving until the matter was settled. He is quoted as saying, "he wishes to return to France after the World Cup", thus turning his back on his mother and family, together with his fiancee and son."
