Diamond announces desire for an unnamed "Southern Hemisphere Pivot"
Sale Sharks coach Steve Diamond has announced his intentions to bring in an unnamed "Southern Hemisphere Pivot" to the club. He has also said he wants to bring in an additional two players.
Any ideas who he is speaking about?

Could be Berrick Barnes, if he recovers from his head woes. Might be looking to take a pension while he can perhaps?
I can’t think of any other top notch flyhalves available, maybe Sale will hijack Bath’s deal with Donald? Dan Kirkpatrick from the Canes (where would that leave us if Cruden goes to the Chiefs!) could be an outside bet, or maybe Butch James? Not au fait with contractual issues with SA players but Biltong may be able to come up with a few names from who might be available.
Bar Barnes, there aren’t that many to choose from across the ditch, Giteau is going to Toulon, Cooper and Beale are tied up with ARU?

Its hardly anyone like Cruden or Toeava or actually maybe the Stade Francais debacle will pave the way for Contepomi or Warwick to join

If his track record in building his 'monster' pack is anything to go by, it shouldn't be too inspiring.

Cumbrian the pack signings are ok. I think current squad looks capable of challenging for European positions.

After enduring year after year of dross served up by mediocre players being paid over the odds, Sale can only get better. No, they could get relegated and Kennedy would walk away from the shambles!

Nothing too startling here - don't all teams have a "desire for an unnamed SH pivot"?

Indeed. It's not like we produce them by the bushel-load either

Brett isn't really international standard, but he'd be a good club signing, i actually know him through friends been out on the urine with him a few times. really good bloke. I think cruden could be convinced to move after the world cup. not happy with the canes (who is?) and slade seems to be ahead of him in the abs order

Nonnu? Could be a mid field pivot.
Is McAllister keen to come back to the NH after not breaking into the AB's squad?

He actually gave Sale more authority on attack than they have ever had in the last 5-6 years……look at the backline for last season, a sterile eunuch is more potent than that bunch and I should know having had to endure watching a few games. It was so exciting my 6 yr old found going to sleep on my shoulder a better option than watching the rubbish served up.
Anyway, it won’t be Cruden he will stay in NZ for the next few years. I thought Brett was off to Japan?

Ah, wasnt aware that there was bad blood when McAllister left Sale!
As a neutral I thought that he made quite an impact in there side - it didnt really help that they had him playing in multiple positions whilst there. Was he 10, 12 or 13?
But, if he's off to Toulouse then its a moot point!

I can't think of a southern hemisphere pivot who doesn't have a name.

My grandson yet to be born will play 10 for the 'canes one day. He won't be named for about 25 years given that my son is only 5
