mike "the rebel" perez vs audley "A-farce" harrison
according to the rumor mill that is the internet, mike perez and harrison could meet up for a show down in october time. now i realise most people hate audley, and rightly so, he last fight he acted like a coward, not even throwing a punch- to the extend that the board of control looked at with holding his purse (they didnt in the end), but there is an odd fasination around him, and i think alot of people will secrectly be watching this fight.
i saw perez when i went to watch prize fighter, and rate very highly. he looked fantanstic there, knocking out opponents left right and centre (includinga 42 second KO of tye fields, who on the same night won a SD over audleys old rivial michael sprott). i don't think A force will cause any problems for perez and predict that he will finish him off quicker than haye did.
does anyone give audley a chance? in my eyes he doesnt even have a punchers chance- but given that i will still be watching with morbib curiousity.

Harrison's a bit of a guilty pleasure for a lot of people; not in the sense that anyone takes any amount of pleasure from watching him 'box', but in the sense that a lot of people would be willing to watch him get beaten again, and also listen to the deluded drivel he is so good at spouting. So I agree, Eddy - if the fight does happen, it'll get its fair share of viewers.
As for the actual bout itself if it were to materialize, Perez disposes of Harrison with aplomb, inside four or five rounds.

Perez to KO Audley in tyhe 2nd for me, just to quick and strong. Will be suprised if Audley throws a punch in this fight either!

Against any and all of my better instincts I would end up watching this, if only to see on the back of the seemingly inevitable defeat Audley would finally do the decent thing and call it a day. I fear I would end up disappointed yet again as we would still hear the same drivel about the dream not being over and going back to the drawing board he has been spouting for god knows how long

Poor Audley. He and his team have been back to that drawing board so many times I'd be surprised if they had any chalk left between them.
Might be a decent idea for a sticky, come to think of it. The 'Your favourite Audley Harrison quotes' sticky. I'd probably get the ball rolling with the hilarious "I'll give David Haye a beating out of love, and he'll thank me for it later in life, because he needs it for his own sake."

Dont count Harrison out just yet. The Haye fight was a farce from beginning to end with Haye and Harrison both in on the fraud. Just a way of making a million thanks to his old friend Haye. I think this fight, should it happen will bring out the Harrison that beat Sprot which was rubbish but still dangerous due to his left hand.

The fight will bring out the best in Audley, which is still rubbish? Says it all, really!

A career of over ten years and the best we can scrape together for an Olympic champion is a win over Sprott, nothing could sum the man up better than this.

Are you forgetting his awesome demolition of the Mike Tyson-conquering Danny Williams?

Fair point Chris was impressive, particularly when one remembers what a model of consistency Danny has been throughout his career.

I'd love Audley to win purely for the speech afterward.
Re: mike "the rebel" perez vs audley "A-farce" harrison
Doesn't interest me in the slightest, once Haye and the Klits retire they should ban Heavyweight boxing and save us all the pain.

hopefully is perez gets the win then he will be looking to take on some other british heavyweights. would love to see him in the mix with fury, chisora and price. think he would beat them as well.

To be serious Eddy would have to agree and say a Perez victory has to be the best result here because whatever his faults Audley sytill carries name recognition and a win would raise his profile and like you say there are some potentially exciting domestic match ups he could have as options should he get the win. Surely has to be better than a guy of nearly 40 who has consistently flattered to deceive continuing his farcical career.

Re: mike "the rebel" perez vs audley "A-farce" harrison
I'd disagree slightly with the early KO predictions. I don't think Perez will hold the fear factor that Haye had over Audley. I'd still say Perez KO, but a mid to late KO, maybe 7-9, with Audley being a bit awkward and extremely cautious, but also throwing the occasional punch.
Surely it would finally burst Audleys bubble if he losing convincingly, which in all likelihood he will. I love to see him move into commentary, "these Klitschkos are decent, and the older one has a decent chin, not been tested by anything as strong as my left hand, but still decent."

i don't know, from what i saw when perez goes for the kill he usual gets it done. it should be a little tricky for perez, audley can bang when he throws and is really tall with a good reach, but that didnt stop him taking out fields in a hurry, and him and sprott where going hell for leather exchanging bombs, and neither man faulted so i would say fields has a suspect chin. perez if a future world title holder imo.

Don't agree that they were both 'in on' anything in the Haye-Harrison fight, but I really wouldn't be surprised if fate gives Audley some ill-deserved confidence with a win over Perez. Not basing that on any kind of actual analysis, but it's the kind of thing which I can imagine happening, to further prolong Audley's farcical career.

if that was to happen then i can just imagine the kind of hype we would be subject to for another 10 years...... the prodical has returned to take whats rightfully his. although i'd give a limb to see harrison take on a klitcscho.

its all part of his destiny to lose so badly and rise up from the gutter and prove all the doubters wrong by landing the strongest left hand in boxing history!!!
Im sure if you asked audley it would be something along those lines.

There should be odds on how many punches Audrey will throw?

The worst thing is I still believed it up until the end of the first round in the Haye fight.
I now no longer believe in destiny and it makes me feel a little sad.

Harrison is based stateside and you know how much they love a fighter who battles against the odds. Should Harrison win a fight like this then maybe the yanks will get behind him because he has zero credibility over here.

Perez poses a fatal combination for Harrison.
Namely - he is someone that he hasn't already-lost-to-but-should-have-beaten.
He'd have been better off fighting Rogan. Or Guinn.

If Haye loses this weekend, does anyone think Audley will somehow try and take credit for it? "David's fear of me caused him to overlook Wladimir!"
Perhaps Audley can fight Holyfield and then someone can set off a pile of dynamite that's been hidden under the ring and everyone can get their wish.

Think that's being too generous. A pulse and having the use of arms is dangerous enough for Audley

Way he's going that's the only way he's gonna quit! I used to have a lot of time for my old history teacher but seeing him shuffling down the street these days reeking of alcohol and muttering to himself, the gloss has kinda worn off that now!TRUSSMAN66 wrote:Answer is no......

I'm off to beddie-byes, perhaps you should do the same thing. Things might look better in the morning Mr Grumpy Face.
