Chelsea Agreed Fee with Palermo for Javier Pastore - Report

The Fulham Chronicle has run a story this evening claiming that Chelsea have submitted a €50m (£41.5m) bid for Javier Pastore, which has been accepted by Palermo.

Huge news if it is true because:

a) is he really worth that?! I mean, he hasn't played in the Champions League and isn't a regular for Argentina yet
b) it will be interesting to see AVB try to work him and Lampard into the same team (if he tries)
c) it probably means any rumours about Falcao / another striker arriving are going to end as it will commit us to some form of single striker formation
d) Modric rumours would appear to be over

That is a ridiculous amount of money considering his lack of experience. I can't believe that the Shevchenko and Torres deals haven't put Abramohvic and Chelsea off spending really stupid amounts of money on players.

£41 million? The word has gone mad.
