Hodgson confident of West Brom support
New West Brom manager Roy Hodgson believes he will receive the support he needs from the club to give his side the best chance of avoiding relegation.
"Clubs which allow you to do the job properly and embrace your philosophies are very important. I believe West Brom are that sort of club," he said.
The Baggies are 17th in the Premier League table, having taken five points from their last eight league games.
The 63-year-old left Liverpool in January after six months at Anfield.
The club recruited Hodgson to replace Roberto di Matteo after relieving the Italian of his duties in the wake of a run of 13 defeats in 18 games.

does anyone think that his comments are a dig at Liverpool fans?

I'm not totally sure what to make of this, as if you look at the article directly below this I showed you that he doesn't have much faith in the team. For me he isn't the right manager for the club and maybe someone more like RDM (such as hughton) would be better for the club

Re: Hodgson confident of West Brom support
I was at a pool tour comp in Dumfries on sunday and one of the top players is a season ticket holder from Liverpool.
He had a lot to say about Roy and none of it was any good or nice. He went on to say it was the wrong choice for WBA and the play will be all negative, he never changes the play if needed untill last 15 min with no plan B. He went on to say that we should look forward to the Championship now rather than may.
Only time will show if he is right.

I think I agree with your mate. As a WBA fan myself I just cant see him doing much good for the club. Yes, he has a great CV of clubs managed, but which ones have actually been any successful? Exactly!

I too is an Albion fan but have ended up living in Scotland (it took 2 hours to get to Dumfries) therefore cant get to the games.
The rest of the family (uncles, aunts, cousins etc) still live around the area and are season ticket holders.
In fact i'm 40 next year and will be planning a birthday trip down with a mini bus full to take in a game. Cant wait. lol
I agree with the CV - surely 11 clubs in 13 years is not to be proud of (depends how you look at it - was he that good he keeps getting poached by other clubs - I think not)
As I said before - only time will tell - hopefully I'll be coming down to take in a Premiership game!!!

Re: Hodgson confident of West Brom support
If the game against Wolves is anything to go by it seems as if we are moving back towards a Megson-esque style of football(Not quite as negative). We looked a lot more solid at the back, but the narrow way we played hindered Thomas(Alongside him being kicked every time he got the ball).
I think if we'd have got Carew in January then this style of play would work. But for all his huff and puff,Fortune gets shoved away too easily and is poor in front of goal.
I'd like to see Vela and Odemwingie given a chance against Stoke,we've got to play to our strengths because hoofing the ball up the pitch to Fortune isn't going to do anything for us against Shawcross and Huth.
We still played good football in the 2nd half, just the players have obviously been told to get rid of the ball quicker in defence which is fine as long as there is some accuracy to where they're placing the ball.Having Mulumbu back will be key as he offers link between Defence and Midfield which could enable our short passing game to come to the fore.

Mulumbu is some boy. He must have split the old 606 down the middle or he is just like Marmite - you either love him or hate him.
If we can just stop 1 goal going in then we get away with us having to score 1 less. The idea behind it cant be that hard but your right - under Megson we conceeded less goals.
Stokes going to be a hard one, taller, bigger, rougher players plus the history alone always goes against us when we play them.

Mulumbu is loved by 95% of fans at least
Just started commenting on 606v2 so thought i'd check out the WBA part
Hodgson seems to of suprised a few on here in a good way after an extremely tough start
