London Olympic Games schedule is released
The official schedule of the London Olympics has been released and makes most interesting reading, moving anticipation up a notch, and as Sebastian Coe observed, "This is a really big moment, a huge moment. In my own experience as a competitor this is the point that it suddenly becomes very real."

Thanks for that! Need to start giving serious consideration to which sports and/or events I'm going to apply to...

They have also released the ticket prices for the 100m final on august 5th. I cant recall the exact figure, but it was something ludicrous

Yeah, i think it was the £725 figure that I heard. There is no way I am going for that price, when i can watch from cool camera angles on my TV

It doesn't make any difference whether you buy them on the 15 March or the last day they are on sale. You will have the same chance of getting them.

Surely it would be first come first serve?

No it isn't. If tickets are oversubscribed they go into a draw. It will make no difference to when you applied for them.

Re: London Olympic Games schedule is released
I was reading a thread on AW (yes, I only just realised that their MB had reopened!), and I was surprised to see how many British athletics fans are saying that they won't be going to the London Olympics, and that the price is a deterrent....
Hey, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, guys!
PS Now that AW has been reopened, what am I doing here?
Seeya, guys....
Enjoy the 606 animosity and hatred that seems to about to be imported here....

Re: London Olympic Games schedule is released
Right ho, have just drawn up a list of events and sessions I fancy going to, and it looks like a week long stay in London (luckily I have family there) and 15 sessions of Olympic action hopefully! Will set me back a little money wise but it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity so let's go for it!

Re: London Olympic Games schedule is released
Personally, I was thinking of exactly the same things when the ticket prices were released ahead of the Olympic Games here in Athens back in 2004. In the end, I attended four afternoon and two morning sessions, apart from cycling and other action. I can tell you it was a unique experience and haven't rued a single Euro I spent - it was all well-invested and those memories will stay with me forever!

Re: London Olympic Games schedule is released
I actually went to a few sessions in the Sydney Olympics as I was traveling Australia that summer, and it was fantastic. Really looking forward to London

According to a latest survey, Brits are prepared to take considerable inroads into their finances to snap up tickets for the Olympics showpiece in London next summer:
