Tennis Section Design
Hi guys,
It looks that the pub sections are not being used as much now and I just wanted your thoughts on how you want the tennis section to look.
If you have any other ideas, just pop them on this thread.
Cheers

Re: Tennis Section Design
I tend to find the pub sections will be quiet in between tournaments. Not sure what will be happening in Rafa section. When Slams come round they will tend to get used more than the quiet period. I think it is wise to wait post US Open and check the activity. The Hardcourt season kicks off in 3 weeks time. Might be worth to see how what the build up is to US Open on the threads.

Re: Tennis Section Design
The problem with pub sections is once you're there the rest is out of reach in some way, also it's a bit claustophobic talking to the same 2 people in my pub Some people seem to be there all the time, mostly Rafa fans, which is a shame because there are some great posters there that you rarely "see" down where most of us reside

Re: Tennis Section Design
As the USO has commenced thought I would resurrect this thread as the pub sections are not being used.

Re: Tennis Section Design
Leave the pub sections, those who don't want contradictory opinions are best kept out of the general section for sure.
An off-topic wouldn't hurt, but after all it's a tennis forum.
I'm ok with it; we just need some more posters but that will come in time. It's much better than 606 for sure.

Re: Tennis Section Design
I think the pub sections can encourage posters away from the main board into 'fan magazines' - a forum for intelligent adults shouldn't need to have 'protected areas' imo because everyone should be able to take honest debate which is respectful to their fellow posters.

I don't mind the pub sections, but why isn't there a babes thread. Numerous posters would like to see one set up and I remember Socal, who is a real professor on this matter, enjoys to talk about that too.

Yummy
I do like it! But I would rather keep the poems for the Limmerick etc.
What's the meaning btw, can't really figure it out myself
PS: I know you would rather have a Tsonga thread, woudn't you!

Re: Tennis Section Design
I've voted for the 3rd option.
At the time, I thought the individual fan sections were a good idea, but looking at the other sports on here, none of them have seperate sections for different players of that sport.
There are dedicated fan forums for each of the top tennis players, if that's what people want (I belong to all three of the Andy Murray forums, lol).
I'm really pleased that this tennis forum has proved so popular....as it took a long while to get going in the early days.
I think most the old 606ers came over here, eventually, which was what we were aiming for....and lots of non bbc606 members, too, of course
I'm waffling now because I'm nervous,as it's getting near Andy's match.
I'm working 5 till 10pm, this evening, what bad timing! So I'll have to miss Andy tonight......but that is sometimes a good thing.
And no, polished_man, I don't want a babes thread lol.

But see the positive of it, a babes thread will give you an unrivalled opportunity to penetrate into the deepest recesses of the human psyche. Now after this explanation are you prepared to endorse wholeheartedly mine and my mate emancipator campaign?

Re: Tennis Section Design
I am not sure about a "Babes section" but reading the comments on this thread, I would say there is a case to be made for polished_man and emancipator to be sectioned.

Re: Tennis Section Design
Although voted for, the off topic section isn't being used.
Unless there are any objections I'll delete the sub section to keep the section nice and pretty.
