First Prem Manager To Leave/Sacked Thread
Who do you reckon will be the 1st out?
I think Harry Redknapp will walk.
Sacked Steve Kean
Redknapp is 25's. Got a ten spot on it!

I don't see Redknapp leaving Spurs unless they bomb and I don't see that happening...or Mr Capello has a poor round of qualifiers!
I think Kean is a good shout personally. It's very tough to predict at this stage for the rest of them -- they all seem secure as it stands. Maybe a poor start will see McLeish out...

Harry's a good bet. Things will hit the crapper, he'll walk blaming everyone else possible and walk into the England job next summer. Then the media cycle with England manager's will begin for ol' 'arry. He'll be the most hated man in England come July 2014.

Warnock for me. I don't think he's happy by the lack of activity and level of backing he's receiving, thaty's one to watch.
Other than that, definitely Kean, the man's lucky to have the job as it is in my opinion.

Neil Warnock. His future is already under scrutiny and speculation and the season hasn't started yet!

I was think redknapp just because spurs will sell modric and I wouldn't be surprised if bale and vdv have offers.
Just a good outside bet.
Kean and warnock are favourites.

Re: First Prem Manager To Leave/Sacked Thread
somehow i dont think kean will be the first to go, he seems to be a perfect yes man for the venkys lot, he travelled out to see them every couple of weeks last season, and i dont think theres many other managers that would want to do that
warnock id say has to be the favourite, hes already complaining about no big signings, and if they have a bad start, i cant help but feel that the owners are looking for any excuse to get rid of him

If Warnock starts the season in charge i'll be amazed, and if he does, then I vote him.
If not, I'll go for Kenny Dalglish

Don't think Dalglish will be on the chopping block unless Liverpool absolutely fail this season, and I think they have bought a team more than capable of a top 5 finish.
I'd forgotten Warnock. Even in his promotion winning season there was an air of uncertainty around him...not much transfer activity either -- no confidence?

Good call - I wouldn't be suprised if either the above happens or he demands that Spurs offer huge wages to keep VDV, Bale and Modric, and sign a load of hugely expensive players or he'll walk. the chairman caves in and then they go bust, say they have to sell players - Redknapp storms out (and straight into the England job), and Spurs plummet down the league, selling players as they go.

I'm a QPR and feel Neil Warnock will be under pressure from the start.
The multi- billionaire owners have so far sanctioned only two free transfer with a possible third on the way. We have already lost out on Danny Graham and Craig Mackail-Smith and probably Wayne Routledge. That doesn't exactly show backing for the manager.

The obvious one is Warnock .
I will go for an outsider in Brendon Rogers , just think if Swansea dont hit the ground running he could be in trouble .

I'm going with Redknapp too. This spurs board have a history of firing managers early on ala Ramos, Jol and Hoddle and if Spurs fail to rack up a good early points tally then he'll be in trouble.
Steve Kean is the obvious one though who'd they'd get to replace him I don't know and who'd want to work for that bunch of muppets anyway?
I wouldn't be surprised to see Mancini get his marching orders either somewhere down the line due to city's ever-growing expectation levels.

Liverpool fan writing...
New American owner who might be trigger happy to fire? Don't think so. JWH kept Roy Hodgson a bit longer than he might have. Only reason to see an early Kenny departure is health issues. WUM talk.
Agree that Warnock could be out before season starts: slow action on transfers could be sign of board toying with a different manager. Unless there's a really weird call like offering Mourinho £25 million to keep QPR up and he agrees, can't see much point in switching managers.

Fergie is shorter than Dalglish, and at 20's?! Who made those odds!?
I don't think that either will be sacked but out of the two, Ferguson is infinitely less likely to get the boot. Nuts.

Re: First Prem Manager To Leave/Sacked Thread
The only way Dalglish will walk is if Liverpool are completely out of the race for a Champions League place which looking at the goings on at Spurs and Arsenal is highly unlikely so I'd expect him to be safe.
Ferguson at 20/1 is a joke bet with a joke price. The Bookmakers in this country are becoming tighter than a fat birds leotard.
But then novelty bets are by a country mile the best way to flush money.

20/1 for ferguson? What? Wow thats short. I think the first to go will probably be.................hmmmm............i have a feeling it will be McCleish or Owen Coyle. Defo not Dalglish or Redknapp.

I wouldn't go for Redknapp. If Spurs do sell Bale and Modric that could bring in 50m+ so Redknapp could bring in 7 or 8 quality players to strengthen the squad in the same way he signed Van Der Vaart for 8m. My money would be on Mick McCarthy at Wolves or any of the promoted teams sacking their manager after a poor startSmirnoffpriest wrote:liverbnz wrote:Harry's a good bet. Think Martinez has bought himself a fair bit of leeway and time by turning down Villa and staying to be honest.
Wenger at 12's is still mental -- but he is more likely to be in danger than Fergie for me.

They sacked Hodgson - shortest Liverpool manager in I don't know 30 years?
I think he's shrewd - He walked out on Blackburn with his reputation intact - yes he won the league but without Jack Walker throwing a load more money at it they werent going anyway - No tradition, he didn't setup a youth system & little fanbase.....
Liverpool the 1st time.... All the team were coming to or the wrong side of 30 - Rush, Aldridge, Beardsley, Grobberleaar, Molby, McMahon, Barnes, Hansen, Nicol ect.... Did he try build another team & risk his legacy? No he was out the door reputation firmly intact legacy secured....
Celtic - Well after throwing John Barnes under a bus he was out of there quicker than the word 'velocity'
He's shrewd & if he thinks he cant do it he'll be off - Its a punt no doubt about it but a calculated one

Hodgson while a good manager was never suited to Liverpool and he was hicks/gillett appointment which was probably the final nail in their coffin , after getting rid of rafa and with them trying to sell they should never of appointed a fulltime manager but by hireing the then current lma manager of the season they thought it would gain favour with the fans but with a poor start it back fired .
Really dont see Kenny leaving but then i wouldnt , ive had 2 bets £20 on Rodgers at 20-1 and £20 on Wenger at 16-1 both each way so quater odds on either being in 1st 4 to go .

Re: First Prem Manager To Leave/Sacked Thread
Kenny Dalglish won't walk and won't get sacked. Liverpool are rebuilding for the future hence the fact they are buying young english players. Saying that though I still think they have a great chance of finishing in the top 4 next season. As for what happened with Kenny leaving Anfield in 1991 that wasn't because of footballing reasons.Brady12 wrote:I'm stick £50 on King Kenny - He did it to Liverpool before & walked away from Blackburn..... Sacking one manager doesn't make them trigger happy. Look at the mega rich owners at Man City and Chelsea to see trigger happy owners.Brady12 wrote:-FreekShow wrote:Brady12 wrote:I'm stick £50 on King Kenny - He did it to Liverpool before & walked away from Blackburn.....
