David Haye vs ??????????
Guys,
After the anti-climax that was Klitshcko vs Haye, who do you think David Haye should fight next and why? I think he should go to the states, fight Arreola and/or Chambers to rebuild his clearly now damaged reputation and then grab a fight with Wladamir or Vitali before retiring. Or even still, should he just hang up his gloves after his lack-lusture, toe-breaking performance?
Cheers

He'll fight the winner of Fury/Chisora, lose, then retire.

Povetkin and Chagaev are fighting for his old strap. If Povetkin won he could be tempted to fight Haye as it would be a nice earner for him.

I think it's most likely that his next contest will be against 'The Cube'.

Re: David Haye vs ??????????
I honestly think Haye has found his level. I think an immediate rematch with either K bro would end much the same. Either he learns a bigger game than just pot shotting in and out and relying heavily on his "Hayemaker" right hand or just shuts up shop.
Watched the Haye v Macca fight again last night and relaised that it wasn't the one sided mauling that people like to make out. Before Enzo was stopped he was looking quite sharp and boxing well behind the jab, caught Haye a good few times, showing better fundamentals. The problem was that Enzo reacts like Bambi on tranqulisers when he's tagged.
Can't see Haye wanting the likes of Arreola, Povetkin, Chambers to be honest. I think he'd win but they're tough jobs for no title.

Poetkin should have a title provided he can beat Chagaev now Wlad is super champ and the regular title is vacant and up for grabs in the Povetkin and Chagaev match up.

Re: David Haye vs ??????????
D whilst I agree they are tough asks if Haye has any pretensions of not only sharing a ring with a K brother they are the sort of fights he simply has to take as they are capable of making him pay for the mistakes he makes but probably not as painfully or decisively as Wlad or Vitali will. Also a win over one or two of them would help his legacy at heavy because whilst I think he loses whenever he faces the brothers at least had he beaten a couple of the guys name his claims to be best of the rest would be strengthened somewhat, because think in the cold light of day his heavy record at the minute is sparce at best.

The trouble is would Haye want Povetkin for the "regular" belt? He still won't be the man with the WBA.

Re: David Haye vs ??????????
I think he needs to be realistic though D, lets face facts his reputation is at an all time low, he lost a lot of respect through his excuses and lack of grace and no matter what he may want to believe he performed little better than 90% of the fighters he so vocally dismissed before the fight. Couple that with the fact he will sell seriously less PPV's next time out on the back of Wlad and Audley he needs to realise his place in the grand scheme of things and if he has an opportunity to face a ranked opponent or fight for a belt he should take it in a heartbeat.

Audley lives in LA, doesn't he. Maybe they could do a buddy movie. You know, start off as friends who train together. They becomes to big for there boots, one starts to loose a couple of fights and they become best of enemies until they fight each other in a huge PPV fight. Then at the end we find it has been a clever con to take money of the public as they walk off together into the sunset. A bit far fetched, but that has never stopped Hollywood.

Drug fuelled Roger would destroy the lot of them and continue to eat Jinky Pacquiao and probably a ring post.

Re: David Haye vs ??????????
if he wants to rebuild his name he should go to the states fight Arreola as HBO will show it, IF he can beat him then he should dust off another yanks and then go for Vitali. But he needs to do a fight every three months if he is going to continue and Haye barely fights twice a year so it is doubtful

Re: David Haye vs ??????????
He should fight the winner of Chageav and Povetkin.
However if he follows the advice of Golden Boy and goes to America then perhaps fights against Arreola, Chambers or even Bermaine Stiverne or Seth Mitchell could be good little earners
IMO he is still the best heavyweight behind the K Bros

Not sure he would earn enough out of those fights to get Haye out of bed none of those guys are main event material.

This is the point. If Haye truly loves boxing he'll be prepared to take less money in order to get himself a shot at a big payday vs Vitali. If he retires then we will know who he truly is.

I don't see him taking lesser fights he would find it hard to motivate himself if their was relatively small cash on the line given his last couple of pay days.

he should fight stiverne as he's WBC manatory challenger, then he would have earned his shot at vitali fair and square. i fancy stiverne as a hot future heavyweight when vitali and haye leave the scene, but think haye would beat him at this moment in time as he isnt the finished article. what a punch he has though.

Re: David Haye vs ??????????
Is he definately planning on fighting on? Even if he is, I'd be shocked to see him fight again in 2011. But a fight in the US would be a good idea. He has links with Sauerland from the past so when Povetkin beats Chagaev, he could get hold of that belt again though Povetkin will be a tough fight for Haye.

Re: David Haye vs ??????????
i think wlad will be eyeing up povetkin if he wins and he offers more belts and a better acheivement for him. i actually thought povetkin was ducking wlad last year but read on boxrec today that his dad passed away and he had some issues to deal with. i dont mind fighters who do that- its better than a mitchell against katdis type performance then lots of excuses after. i think povetkin will be wlads toughest test and if anyone at the moment can knock him off the top its him.
