First topic message reminder :

Incase anyone hadn't worked out I was bored, well...I am. So here it is, evil characters XV versue superhero XV. Can be from movies, cartoons whatever. Go for it.

Who'd win and why

1 Rhino-man (Spiderman) short, squat and huge leg drive. Aggressive and really good on the charge.
2 Miss Trunchbull (Mathilda) serious power, she was training for the olympics, pretty compact, all round meanie
3 Megatron (Transformers), huge mass of metal strength, would have fantastic leg drive and has got a bit of pace too.
4 Vampire played by Triple H (Blade 3) stupidly big and very strong. Tall enough for a second row but would do well in the enforcer role
5 Jaws (James Bond) tall built like a tree, hard to bring down and an aggressive b*stard.
6 Shan Yu (Mulan) absolute maniac, gets shot in the face with a firework but keeps going.
7 Darth Vader (Star Wars) well versed in the dark arts and can use his cunning and malice too good effect at 7.
8 Cave Troll (Lord of the Rings) absolute power, sheer aggressiona and bloody mindlessness. Hard to take down and quick once it gets going.
9 Jigsaw (Saw) very clever and cunning, able to think multiple steps ahead, has great "vision"
10 The Joker (Batman) tricky customer, hard to predict yet a very clever and calculating individual.
11 Raptor (Jurassic Park) seriously quick and agile, natural predator and viscious.
12 Agent Smith (the Matrix) very tough and quick. Resourceful and determind. Creative and dependable.
13 German soldier in "slow stab scene" (Saving Private ryan) ruthless, quick, strong, aggressive, skilled and effective with his hands.
14 Red guy who teleports (New X-men) someone who can teleports from one end of the pitch to the other will be useful. Also viscous.
15 Lord Voldemort (Harry Potter) cunning, can fly so can get high balls, can fly so fast, a clinical finisher, always seems in control

1 Beast (X-Men) INcredibly strong and powerful, also disciplined and intelligent. Quite quick too.
2 Riddick (Chronicles of riddick) A savage animal. Very muscular and very diffcult to take down. Calm under pressure.
3 The thing (fantastic Four) Solid mass of strength. Very tough and really packs a punch.
4 Optimus Prime (Transformers) huge presence in the second row. Hard and honest worker who leaves it all on the field.
5 Superman (superman) can fly for the high balls in the lineout, very tough in the tight and quick and athletic in the loose.
6 John McCane (Die Hard Series) very tough individual and extremely resiliant. Never gives up and high pain threshold.
7 Wolverine (X-Men) low to the ground, viscous, fights tooth and nail. Strong and agile.
8 The Hulk (hulk) Unstoppable on the charge and very athletic off the base. Can jump well in the lineout too.
9 Gandalf (Lord of the Rings) Can see the field so well, wise, great decision making, underrated strength and speed.
10 John Preston (Equilibrium) Very cool under pressure, great decision making, quick, agile, strong and relentless.
11 Spencer (The incredibles) Stupidly fast kid. Maybe not the greatest temperment but this kid has wheels.
12 Jason Bourne (Bourne Trilogy) Good foil to maximus again very clever and resourceful, quick, strong and hard to beat down.
13 Maximus (Gladiator) Serious athletisicm and also a lot of brains. Viscous but cool headed skill and strength.
14 Goku (Dragon Ball) Very strong very fast. A born leader and quite clever also very determind.
15 Neo (The Matrix) Can fly and can thus deal with high balls and is quick. Also very strong and great reflexes.

So who would win???? And Why??????

Any suggestions add them in!!!

True rugbydreamer.

In regards to Sauron I was thinking of the fully rejuvenated one like you see at the beginning of the fellowship of the ring. Bit slow though.

The problem with mine and pete's teams in my opinion is that the evil side's lack pace. They are all about power.

Also other options in the frontrow for the evil team are the Kraken from clash of the titans, Jabba the Hut or Jabba the hut's pet in the dungeons.

Surely the evil team needs to be coached by 'The Brain' from Pinky and the brain? If anyone is truly an evil genious it's him. And he can sneak in to the good teams locker rooms and pinch their notes!

Looks like the evil team have huge strength in depth. Especially the frontrow.

Need to try and rebalance with good guys.

The Human torch could go on the wing.

Hercules can fit in there somewhere.

Odysseus and Achilles - brains and muscles respectively.

Perseus for good guys, Medusa for evil team.

Odin - for the heroes. Loki for evil.

Theseus and the Minotaur.

King Leonidas.

Really easy to delve into greek mythology.

The titans for example.

If we are including video games then have to add Kratos.

Aha the perfect way for the far stronger evil team to lose, stereotypical evil villain plan failure.

Wouldn't the kracken take up the majority of the pitch (if not all of it), the robots are also fairly large. Maybe a specially devised pitch of epic proportions would need to be designed. This lot wouldn't fit into Twickers.

I reckon we play it in the sahara desert to limit collatoral damage

I'm slightly worried on two fronts.

Will the heroes be able to deal with the evil teams direct ballcarrying game?

and

If they can deal with it, do the evil team have a plan b or can they even plan?

I think between those two sides it's too close to call.

I imagine the IRB would name Wayne Barnes to control the fixture, I'd predict he'd probably send off Gandalf early on and let the Joker throw forward passes, then claim it didn't impact the result.

They can plan alright. But their downfall will be stopping whilst the Joker explains his game plan step by step before scoring, giving the Heroes time to move the ball wide and score on the counter strike.

Pete are you going to stick with your original XV or are you going to put in some new suggestions like the kraken etc?

Of course there are the bench options.

You have too many humans in your heroes like Bourne,Preston,Maximus,Riddick etc.

They would be crushed quite literally.

Your heroes team needs a couple of gods and demi gods to balance things out.

Danny Grewcock, Simon Shaw or Andy Haden
Schalk Burger, Richie McCaw, Michael Brial
George Gregan for ´that tackle´, Ronan O´Gara
Tana Umaga, Matt Banahan,
Tom Williams, Christophe Dominic for that evil display in 99
Don Clarke - he had an evil toe punt.

Pete thanks. The reason I didn't have those two is that they aren't particularly quick, powerful or strong. In terms of intelligence they are two of the best but on a rugby pitch more than that are needed.

Dracula and Doctor Doom are both manipulative and cunning. They also possess raw power and pace.

World leaders?
Countries sterotypes?

If it were world leaders, Sarkozy would have to be halfback, Merkel in the front row, Berlusconi at the centre of all things at flyhalf...

Other suggestions, supermodels and pray for rain, Hollywood stars - Matt Damon is out of the running for being so awful as Pienaar - midgets or dwarves, the list is endless...

On the old 606 cricket board we did a crisps 11 and had a massive row when someone tried to play monster munch as they aren't technically crisps. I think we decided on a period of residency before they qualified.

Good times!

Miria Klose for germany at 5, great in the air.

Yeah think I am going to do Countries by sterotype, ie: Russians big stern mean guys, irish cheeky little fellas, American's rotund etc, hopefully it won't cause too much controversy, expect it after lunch at some stage.

1.Peter kay
2.Matt Lucas
3.Johnny Vegas
4.Martin Bayfield(body double of Hagrid, he counts)
5.Jeremy Clarkson
6.Idris Elba
7.Sean Bean

11.Orlando Bloom
12.Daniel Craig

Stephen Fry as head coach.

An American XV to go up against that English XV - essentially brawn vs brains.

1.Silvester Stallone
2.Vin Diesel
3.Arnold Schartzenegger (he is an American citizen now - qualifies by residency)
4.
5.
6.
7.Matt Damon
8.The Rock
9.Shia La Beouf
10.Brad Pitt
11.Nicolas Cage
12.Lawrence Fishburne
13.
14.Will Smith
15.Tom Cruise

Should be able to fill in the blanks. Any suggestions. Can't use Hugh Jackman or Keanu Reeves as they aren't american.

Two people who would be excellent for the English team are Idris Elba and Chiwetel Ejiofor

Seriously RugbyDreamer? Ok I will switch one of the two above.

Jason Statham and Vinnie Jones are both English (Vinnie was born in Watford and represented Wales through his grandfather). They are hard.

Definitely have Vinnie over Clarkson and Statham over Simm. Craig and Statham in the centres, that's pretty brutal.

Move Tom Cruise to 14 as he's more like a Shane Williams esq player. Will Smith then goes to 15 as he's probably a very good kicker and we get Hugh Jackman in at 13.

13.Hugh Jackman
14.Tom Cruise
15.Will Smith

yappysnap Hugh Jackman is Australian. Though agree about Smith and Cruise.

Sam I can understand. I personally see John Simm as a bit like Conrad Smith. He is the perfect contrast to Daniel Craig's brutal approach. Particularly good as Sam Tyler in life on mars and the Master in Doctor Who.

I think Jason Statham possibly brings brawn but not brains. It's all about good balance.

You are right I can see Vinnie Jones as a good choice but Clarkson is a tall bloke and a good lump to have in the pack.

Tom Cruise is too short to be a fullback, he won't get high enoguh for the up and unders.

Put him down for peeling oranges.
