Crusaders withdraw application for Super League place

What are the chances of the WRU encouraging them to switch codes and play between Bridgeend and Wrexham?
Just a thought?

Any chance that Alfie will return to Union with one of the regions maybe?

Just goes to prove that you can make just plonk a team somewhere and expect it to be successful. SL clubs in the traditional RL "heartlands" struggle financially.

A fifth region to play against whom?
Surely there is no place for a stand alone region?

Re: Crusaders withdraw application for Super League place
I was thinking with RGC1404 now gone and there Pontypridd doing well in the Prem, and now Crusaders not renewing there super league place, is this a golden Chance for the WRU to put some finance to them to switch codes.
Make them a north/Valleys team, using Ponty players and some league converts, and the acamady rcg1404 produced with the Ponty and Bridgeend acamadys all 3 combined, enter them in the BandI cup and Anglo welsh cup and see how it goes.
A chance like this won't come along very often.

Ridiculous, the whole affair. The whole thing seem unsustainable from the start. Perhaps the RFL will now concentrate on professionally growing the game in areas where people actually like the game. Like Cumbria…

South Africa has got one.
I think they play the other Super 15 sides plus some friendlies and took part in the odd international tournament as a sort of South Africa A side with the idea they'll become a Super WhateverNumber side at some future point. Wales could do the same, I imagine.
