Your top 5 albums of all time
Well let me be the man to pop the music boards cherry :bitchslap:
So I didn't post a great deal on the old 606 (but I'm gonna change that) and I'm sure there will be a few others like me so lets get to know one another and see what everybodies taste in music is like.
Like the title said what are your top 5 albums of all time?
Mine would look a little like this
1) Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
2) The Misfits - Collection Vol.1
3) Zombina and the Skeletones - Death Valley High
4)Nekromantix - Return of the Loving Dead
5)Send More Paramedics - The Hallowed and the Heathen
If I wrote this next week the answers would probably be completely different depending on my mood.

going to show my age here and say that I dont know which are the album titles and which are the bands!
(thats a lie as Hero told me to check out the naked pic of the paramore girl last week.)
To prove my old age, here is my list:(and I am trying to only pick one album per band)
1. Clutching at Straws - Marillion
2. The Works - Queen
3. Wish you were here - Pink Floyd
4. 1987 - Whitesnake
5. Resistance - Muse
Re: Your top 5 albums of all time
Do we have any old rockers here? Like 60s/70s/80s classic rock (Zeppelin, Purple, Floyd, Yes, ELP etc etc)
I do an internet radio show 3 times a week - not sure if the new forum rules allow me to advertise yet so I'll keep the link to myself until I get permission from the admins to promote it
Would love for some new listeners though. If the admins OK it I'll post the link here or maybe do a new thread for the show. The station is 24/7 online only (and purely for fun - not a commercial site). I'm on air Mon/Wed/Fri from 8-10pm UK. My show is the classic rock one but the station caters to lots of other tastes too.
My own favourite 5 albums of all time...
1) Octavarium - Dream Theater
2) Made In Japan - Deep Purple
3) Moving Pictures - Rush
4) Agents of Fortune - Blue Oyster Cult
5) Marquee Moon - Television
as with everyone else, that will probably be different tomorrow

Re: Your top 5 albums of all time
I did indeed Steve it was October 2009 in Birmingham! Awesome gig, that's how I got into TDWP!
Shikari smash it (Richard Keys you dirty oh dear) every time I go to see them, such a good atmosphere at their gigs! Best one I would say would be in 2006 at one of my local venues and there was only about 500 people there
Was gutted last year coz I was going to see 30 Seconds to Mars with Shikari supporting but couldn't get tickets in time

Re: Your top 5 albums of all time
Everyone to there own YI, I enjoy some Drum & Bass now and again! You into any of that? If you like heavyish stuff I'd give Enter Shikari a blast. They do some screaming with Drum & Bass/Dance beats.
Yeah, that tour was the reason I started listening to them too Dexter! Don't think I've ever been so messed up at the end of a gig, it was none stop the entire 2 and half hours I was there. Only ever seen them at bigger venues, reckon they'd be awesome in a smaller place though. Crowd would be nuts!
I seen them on that tour, 30STMs were absolutely insane but Shikari were a disappointment on the night. Hearing Destabilized was quality though. Had about 700 people dancing at the drum & bass breakdown near the end.

no problems from me Davie.
Go ahead and post the link - you might even want to start a new thread about it.
I am sure that if the site owner (HERO) has issues he will let you know.
One final thing, a lot of the people who set up this site and moderate it are part of a wrestling efed where we pretend to be wrestlers - my entrance theme was "Dont fear the Reaper" by BOC
Re: Your top 5 albums of all time
All fine here!
Trying hard to think on my fave five albums now.

1. Portishead: Dummy
2. Massive Attack: Mezzanine
3. Bjork: Debut
4. REM: Automatic for the People
5. Pulp: Different Class

Top 5 Favourite Albums;
1) Everything Must Go - Manic Street Preachers
2) The Holy Bible - Manic Street Preachers
3) You Are The Quarry - Morrissey
4) When Shadows Collide With People - John Frusciante
5) Know Your Enemy - Manic Street Preachers
I tried to have 5 different bands, but it is impossible for me. Merely separating Everything Must Go and The Holy Bible is hard enough, without leaving one out of the Top 5.
I feel special mentions are needed for Generation Terrorists by Manic Street Preachers, This is my truth tell me yours by Manic Street Preachers and Journal for Plague Lovers by Manic Street Preachers

Awesome to see another You are the Quarry fan. Superb album.
The Queen is Dead should probably be in my 5 too. Mine was a bit bias because I saw the Manics live last week.

I built his whole gimmick around having that as a theme tune. No wonder the character didn't really last long

These are the first 5 I thought of, its incrediblt difficult as once I had written them down I thought of about 20 more I have missed out, there is no smiths, joy division or many more I could have included, along with all the house music albums that are incredible

But that means no Jethro Tull, no Seth Lakeman, no Chris Rea - how about a top 10?
