Chris,
We will have to agree to disagree on this one mate. Time will tell I guess, but for me Lawes has been pretty average in his last few England appearances. Maybe he will prove me wrong during the World Cup, we'll just have to wait and see.

You can't compare Lawes to Bakkies. Bakkies is a brute and just bullies opposition, I wouldn't say he's not intelligent either, just bloody hard!
I really like Lawes, needs to bulk up a bit though to be a true 4 and learn how to carry. He's a little lightweight around the park to be a world class lock at the minute, he's more of a lock/backrow still. Class act though.

Pete, in the papers I have read Lawes has got ratings of 7 and 8 in his last two outings. Think he needs an experienced head next to him, think his gameplay is very intelligent its just he is a little over eager to get involved sometimes!
One of the best defensive locks around and his lineout game has come on leaps and bounds!

I really like lawes and think his lineout has come on leaps and bounds. He will never be a clever player like bakkies though.
Lawes does not do any of the traditional 4 stuff like blocking people out, Holding on to people that bit to long and in general does not bully his opposite number in a fairly legit way a la bakkies and johnno way.
Also watch Bakkies and Johnnos carrying lines close to the rucks.
Have you heard Lawes speak he is pretty much as dim as you will ever see. He has the potential to progress and become exceptional. i hope he does but that lack of intelligence i think will hold him back

AGE LIMIT AND ACADEMY PLAYERS
Right guys as i'v just bollicked Chris for having 2 overage players in his academy by randomly removing one of his players i think we should all show a bit of honesty and have a look through our acadamys and have a good spring clean.
The Rules clearly state
The maximum squad size is 55 senior players, and an academy of 20 players. A player is eligible to be a member of an academy if he is under the age of 21 years old on 1st September 2011.
If a team has more than 55 players or 20 academy players in their squad then they will be fined £1 million per player over the permitted amounts per day for the first seven days. If after 7 consecutive days a team still has more than the permitted number of players then the team will be fined £2 million per player per day, and fined 1 league point per player per day for the next seven days. If after this time a team still has more than the permitted number of players in their squad, the RFU (me) will remove players at it’s discretion to bring them back under the permitted numbers. There will be no right of appeal to players being removed.
Also to be enforced as of the end of the RWC
Any academy player who has played more than 10 senior games (Starts) is there for registered as a senior player

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
I should be ok Driver moved my overaged players in to my squad a few weeks back
But on the academy players becoming senior players should it not just be better to leave it as an age limit thing. Saying this as alot of my academy players are Sale boys and may well actually be needed at first team level this year. Same for the Worcester academy players, Newcastle and maybe even Exeter. Bigger squads like Tigers, Saints etc wont be rushed into playing academy lads and will be able to hold on to them in the academy here in the game. Why should we have to either give up a space in our senior squad or let a tidy prospect go because in real life our sides have stretched squads?

Should also note that in real life even if an academy player gets gametime he would be kept on his academy contract...

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
To me it seems odd to make Chris lose a player because when you add the two overage players from the academy to the squad he is inside the squad limit.
And he has 3 under 21 players in his full squad. Seems over the top to me.
Unless I've got something wrong I'm not in favour of this

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
Thats another side of it as well Matt.
We would have to give up spaces in our main squad for players who just arent anywhere near ready for the standard of this league yet and again some sides would have to do so more often because they havent got the biggest squads in real life.
Also to be fair on Chris he would have been in his squad numbers with Moon promoted to the full squad. He had a clear out a few weeks back

Pooly how do you monitor how many appearances players have made in this game. It all gets a bit complicated.
Bet pooly has a spreadsheet and can tell me how many games each player has played
when are we getting pro zone on our players so we can see how far they ran in each game etc!!!!!!!!

Appearances in this league for academy players.
It's not that he's outside the 55 limit johnny but he has been warned before and isn't listing his players in the correct area

But Chris put next to two of his players (Tuilagi and Benvenutti) that they were still eligible for the academy.
Losing a player of bradley davies quality seems very very unfair. I thought perhaps a financial penalty or a points deduction at the very worse would be a penalty

Should of been listed in his academy for all i know he could have put them into his senior set up and snapped up 22 year olds from champ to go in his academy and hid in there with Moon and Caprice.
I'm going to give Chris the benefit of the doubt here and let him pick his own punishment
1.Lose Bradley Davies
2.Lose 5 squad players to be released with no compensation. (Random generated)
3.9 points deduction + £15m fine

Ah right.
The reason he is being punished is because of the moon incident and the amount of times he's been told off before for incidents like this.

Driver my squad is perfectly legit = so you wont be taking any of my players out of the academy thank you very much.
I dont have the time that others do to go and edit a squad every ten minutes, I am no longer able to get online between 8am-6pm and am trying to keep answeing people on here.
You are allowed 55 players, 20 academy players - I dont have over 20 academy players so why am I getting singled out?
I personally think the 10 game rule is utter rubbish, I've put a lot of time making my academy, so dont see the point in it and would happily take any fine than go along with that.
Effectively, there is now no point in bringing through young players.

And Driver you mention the Moon incident, but I have previously said that I would replace him in the academy. Go through my squad and you will clearly see that I dont have more than 20 academy players.
I am putting a complaint in to the IRB for general mismanagement ;-)

Re: Fantasy Aviva Premiership Season 4 homepage
My tuppence worth on the squad limits/academy players issue.
1. When did the if an academy player plays 10 matches he has to be promoted to the full squad rule come in? I think this is grossly unfair.
Scenario: You get badly hit by international call ups and injuries in 1 position and are forced to play an academy player for an extended period. He has bags of potential and is a future England great but you get hammered in predictions due to his lack experience and lose 10 on the bounce, and then you have to promote him to the seniors or lose him. Your squad size is at it's max at this point, so you either have to release an experienced player or lose a potential superstar having already been hammered in the league.
Seems incredibly unfair to me in all honesty and could really hurt some of the lower ranked teams. I think it should be solely on age and how many games you play is irrelevant.
2. It's not hard sorting your squad into who should be in the full squad and who is the right age for the academy. When running the game it becomes really annoying when people don't stick to the rules as laid out, and as such penalties for breaking the rules should be harsh, as they are in this case.
3. That said, I know people have busy lives, and if I were you driver I would PM Chris and tell him that he has until 9 am Monday morning to sort his squad out or he gets hit hard with the punishment. And the same goes for everyone else who may have players that they shouldn't have.

Chris, with the greatest of respect to you mate, I told you over two months ago that you had overage players in your academy, so although I appreciate you are busy, you have had plenty of time to get it sorted, and have managed to find time to bid for other championship players.
I will say no more on it, I've given my opinion.
