Fixed Odds Football.
Many years ago when I was serving my apprenticeship I was introduced to the ways of football betting and since then I have been punting on them, At the time my old tradesman seemed to be the only person who continually came in on a Monday with a winning coupon, whilst the rest of us had the usual sob stories of one team busting the accumulator.
His secret was not to be greedy and only pick three homes priced roughly about evens, returning roughly 7-1, even if you only get one up a month you are still in profit.
The theory being the more teams you select the greater the odds become in the bookies favour, all it takes is one draw and your a gonner.
With this in mind I propose to offer three homes every Saturday morning, which will hopefully show a profit, any other contributions are most welcome and we will see if this theory still holds up in 2011.

Welcome BCFC, hopefully we can show a profit here.
P.S. I keep my eye on your side faithfully because of the Ibrox connection, been a bit of a disapointmnent this season, thought they would do a lot better - what has been your opinion of Big Eck this year and how do you feel wee Barry has performed?

Re: Fixed Odds Football.
BCFC, I always wait til I see my Racing Post, Daily Record (for the Scottish Laegues, where there is always value to be had) before i choose my final three - have had a wee study tonight but will finalise my three in the morning mate.
On the BCFC situation am glad you are sticking with Big Eck, he is a good man who got a raw deal at Ibrox, he followed the disaster that was Dick Advocaat, who bankrupted the club buying duds like Tore Andre Flo for £12.
Wee Barry was always a special talent, but as you say his beat days are behind him unfortunatly.

Re: Fixed Odds Football.
Right here we go :-
The first side I'm sweet on today is MILLWALL at home to a very poor Boro side, Millwall have already beaten the Riverside outfit twice this year, have a pretty solid home record and there up and at em style should ruffle a poor Boro defence. Last week Boro were 3-1 up at home against the Swans and capitulated to a 4-3 loss. Millwall are available at evens and hopefully will give us a good start.
My second selection is MOTHERWELL at home to a very limited Hamilton Accies side, ignore the well's 6-0 loss last Saturday at Ibrox, it was just one of those days when the Old Firm side clicked. The Wells midweek victory at Aberdeen was very impressive having been 1-0 down early on but they showed good spirit to secure a victory, in Franny Jeffers they have a player who will score goals at this level. The Fir Park side are available at 8/11.
For the final selection, I'm betting with my head and not my heart and opposing my own team Rangers in the big Old Firm derby tomorrow, CELTIC look great value at a general 11/10, with Neil Lennons team down to 10 men in the last meeting 2 weeks ago and still dominating a very poor Ibrox side. Rangers are sadly lacking in numbers especially in the middle of the park and add to that the hard game they had in Europe on Thursday night whereas Celtic have had the full week to prepare for the Glasgow derby.
The treble pays £72 for a tenner so heres hoping - HAPPY PUNTING TROOPS!

Re: Fixed Odds Football.
.Interesting choices..
Think id just go for 3 championship teams.
Ipswich to beat hull.
Portsmouth to beat barnsley.
Leeds to beat norwich.
10 bet returns 84.

Re: Fixed Odds Football.
3 simple home bets like that is a good idea - but one of mine (Reading) has been postponed
Does that make the 3-way void or will it still pay out on the other two?

That's interesting! The Mad Stad is not too far from me so couldn't understand why it was off but futbol24.com where I get my goal flashes (quicker than the BBC) is showing it postponed. Maybe just a glitch - can't find anything about it anywhere else

Re: Fixed Odds Football.
Aint sunderland away at everton???
Id go for-
swansea to beat leeds
newcastle to beat bolton
wolves to beat blackpool
£10 returns £73..
Odds of 59/1 rarely come in but when they do its happy days.
Good luck with your selections!!
