US Open - Murray is going to be key
Let's face it, the draw at the USO is more important than anywhere else due to the super saturday schedule....and of course another fact to face is that Murray doesn't seem to be up to the top 3 in terms of fitness and current form. Often in the past, like last year or last month, he is either absent of the semi rendez-vous or simply can;t quite leave physical scars to his semi opponent...therefore allowing his opponent to get through unscathed to the final...giving him an unfair advantage. Unfortunately, Federer at number 3 cannot benefit from the Murray factor but Nadal and Djoko will be looking forward to share the draw with him.
This is not a Murray bashing thread as I projected a few times that Murray woudl have a big influence in the future as he is a "physical" player able to do lots of damage like he did in his semi of the London's masters...but let's face it, this was a one off and has failed to play his "big 4" role on many slams.

Results speak for themselves in the final analysis - Murray is not at the same level as the top 3. That said, he should be making more semi's...but he seems (despite Nadal losing to Dodig) to be the one who is more vulnerable to losing to lower ranked players on a given day. Its not the physical side thats the issue, its clearly what's going on upstairs - Murray seems to focus on the physical side too much, now changing his diet, etc, to emulate Djokovic's success. But what is he doing to sharpen his mind and block out negative thoughts or on-court behavioural traits?

As Tenez has said with silly super saturday format the player who doesn't get Roger is going to have a huge benefit. Not only in that murray is weaker but whichever semi Roger is in assuming (that either Nadal or Djoko) is his opponent will most likely be the feature match on super saturday and will end up finishing late in the evening. Lets see how long the "coincidence" of Novak getting Roger in his half for every slam will continue, this unfortunate "mathematical coincidence" may have already cost him a grandslam title.

The concept of the *silly Saturday* is typical of the fact
that the only God in America is the Dollar !
And until the media channels continue to kow-tow to the
fact that that tennis players are ACTUALLY Human and not Robots
this nonsensical agenda will continue .

Indeed Super Saturday allows the popcorn munchers to sit in their armchairs from 12pm to 12am. Its always been an issue and arguably cost Sampras a slam too one year (altho' it might be argued Sampras wasnt in great physical condition in 2001...after the 1st set TB he just simply ran out of gas and yet had beaten Hewitt in straights in the previous years semi)...

Aye they do dont they...and popcorn is probably too healthy, more like chilli-dogs, taco-shells, burgers and cheesesteak sandwiches.

Wow, how quaint, a wave of antiamericanism, because we know that britain doesn't have any overweight people does it? By the way Cheesesteaks are great sandwhichs.

How do we put a stop to this madness? I suggest a march down time square...

I don't think thisis going to be a huge factor considering that: given how things are going it's not even sure all the top four will get to the semifinals. But should they actually all land in the semifinals I agree that this would be important. In particoular: I think Federer would probably benefit from meeting Nadal in the semis rather than in the final and both Nadal and Djokovic would probably prefer to meet Murray in the semis, rather than Federer.

So you think Federer would prefer to lose in the semi rather than the final?

BB, you are an amusing individual. The wonders of your warped reality and incredible ability to not recognize a fact is truely a unique trait. The way Djokovic is playing right now I ain't to worried about Fognini. Just enjoying the great tennis season.
