Golfing Ism's
Just read an interesting article on Mr Woods, regarding the Tigerisms' he is currently spawning.
An example would be:
"I'm controlling the Traj of the shot a lot better now" meaning trajectory.
"I'm here for a W and always play for a W we all know what he means by that.
My personal favourite and one i find to be somewhat of a Dig as his former coach who he had great success with is "I'm hitting it much better with my new swing compared to my old Wipey swing" What the hell is a Wipey swing...
So this got me thinking are there any other golfing ism's that we or the pro use that we simply don't pick up on

Similar thinking was Tiger's creation of the word "bouncebackability" - probably actually made by the media but hadn't heard it before it was used to describe the way that he can have a good hole after a bad one...

That term was actually spawned from football or Soccer as the americans might say, I believe it was Fergie that came out with it in a sky interview in the early 90's as a way of saying it's how his teams deal with conceding goals and turning it into a positive to drive forward and still win

I thought it was Soccer AM that first used the word bouncebackability. Even if they weren't first it was them who popularised it

I'm sure it was the worst player ever Iain Dowie who first said it about yet abnother side he'd taken to a relegation battle, possibly on Soccer AM

Re: Golfing Ism's
Just looked into this as it actually in last months Golf monthly. Fergie used the phrase in Uniteds premiership win it the leagues first year as it was their ability to come back from a goal down and still win..
Dowie then picked up on this phrase after getting someone relegated and Soccer AM ran it from there...

They paid him to play football, I thought southampton employed him to make Matt Le Tissier look like one of the easier on the eye players to get the ladies liking him..

He bumped into me, literally, in a bar in Belfast and spilled my pint. I said "I see you're as clumsy in the bar as you are in the box" and to be fair, he laughed and offered me a replacement.MustPuttBetter wrote:Ha ha, i still remember that own goal for West Ham v Stockport in the cup.

Not been in there for a couple of years. It used to be ok (not my favourite), but got stupidly busy on a Friday and Saturday night.

50 years on I still think anyone who calls a bunker a 'sand trap' is an inbred('')ism
