Golfing Gifts (Not again)
Yes i'm afraid it's that time of year again (fathers day) where annually I will be bought some guff item and smile and say it's wonderful thankyou I love you to, to the mini mav's.
So thought i'd put it out there to all what is the naffest present (golfing) you have received for fathers/mothers day, birthday or christmas.
I'll start with my 3 most recent gifts.
1. Golfing quiz calender, a different question each day of trivia. Was interesting in January not turned a page since!
2. Personalized tee pegs with my name on! Yes i'm sure someone will hand it in if i lose one after all it has my name on!
3. Crappest of all (literally) Golfing toilet paper!!

I was once given personalised tee pegs! A set of.........4 !
Rubbish! They were gone in about an hour!
It's a bit like giving someone a sandwich with their face on it!!

One of those 'nutcracker' machines that stamp your name onto your balls(!)
Don't let your neighbourhood dominatrix get a hold of it

This will be the first time the little slug has a vague idea that he's giving me a gift.
I am awaiting something truly useful. Like a second hipflask with a golfer stamped on it.

slightly off topic - but when we (wife and me) decided to start golf her sister bought wife 3 golf balls. Wife completely non-plussed said "why has she done that, I've already got 3!" Oh how we laughed about 2 holes in to first real course!!!!!

One of the best pieces of golf advertising I have seen was a tee peg with
' If lost please return to the Abbotsford Hotel' printed on it.

I too have that book, was one of mrs mav's more inspired purchases, I hand't asked for it. She just bought it saying she had heard of Monty and turned out to be a very good read and one a lot of people could take advantage of

I've picked up a copy of Seve's autobiography for my dad. He'll be half thinking 'not another golf book?' but I am sure this one is worth the read.

I had better let him read it first this time, I got him the John Daly one and Dream On last year and read them both before he started one. I don't want to do it to him again haha.
